Free Software activists give people control over technology, and help defend their digital #rights. We have created means that have allowed us to become organized and connected, bypassing utilities controlled by unethical corporations.
KDE presents "For Activists": you too can leverage the tools to effectively organize rallies, privately communicate with fellow #community members, and safely manage your own grassroots #movement .
Ferry to Surry - we were crossing a river and when the ferry took off, hundreds of birds followed the boat with us. I caught this one over the side of the deck. I love the face and the motion.
"It may seem positive that Islam is being discussed by former detractors beyond the prisms of #extremism and #terrorism, but this exchange is part of a growing trend of something more ominous that involves #ideological borrowing in both directions.
Conversely, conservative #male pundits in the West are hosting #Muslim voices on their #podcasts and #shows.
And while these #groups have historically been at loggerheads, the overlaps in their values are also clear in their opposition to #feminism and the #antisemitism that is rife in both #communities."
The Neighbor's Yard - the sun was setting and I was looking at the sky over the neighbor's yard. I captured it with some ICM to give it a lovely abstract flow.
Thank you to Reuters news service reporter Carey Biron who spoke to me and broadband-for-all titans (Jim Baller & Gigi Sohn) for this story on the debate around municipal #broadband and other forms of publicly-owned, locally-controlled high-speed #Internet networks.
The community broadband #movement is really starting to gain momentum
@BobHorowitz That was the photo I was talking about.
A long exposured photo of a road with car's lights, while me and my friend were riding back from a trip we had, with his scooter. This photo was from 1 month ago.
Because of too much move, the shot weren't stabilized well, but it looks good.
The Cyclist - a photograph I took from a moving car, which gave the photo a certain amount of movement. I like surreal and conceptual photography and I love B&W
This one is a really nice pose with lots of movement. More specifically, it’s a roller derby move, with the character caught in mid-crossover, their back skate in the air. It’s one of my favorites out of this whole project.
Excluded from the demonstration was any reference to the essential issues in the development of a #movement against the #genocide. Nothing was said of the history of Israel and Zionism or its role as a bulwark for imperialism in the Middle East. No one referred to the interests motivating imperialist support for the genocide, the three decades of unending war, the preparations for war against Iran, the relationship of this to the ongoing US-NATO war against Russia or the developing conflict with China. There was no reference to the working class or the growth of the class struggle throughout the world.
The organizers wanted no references to any of this because it would cut across their orientation to the Democratic Party. This of course is why they refused to allow a speaker from the World Socialist Web Site to address the rally. #GenocideJoeKnows#Gaza#GenocideTaxForeverWarDivestsFromYouthHousingCleanAirAndWaterMedicareForAll #ThankGoodnessForSouthAfrica
Day zero of #movement festival pre-parties complete. A great experience, but now onto the actual festival. Hate that feeling when you’re going home and the birds are waking up, but that’ll be my life for a few days.
