I find myself wanting to discuss #gamedesign more lately, but all of my work projects are secret. So I sat down and designed a new tabletop game, and I'm sharing it here, asking for feedback, ideas, and comments. https://patrickcurry.com/bacchus/
Now we march onwards to our stretch goals, which are very simple: For every additional €1,000 pledged to our campaign, we will prototype another fishy game archetype for our evergrowing bundle. Once our funding run concludes we will poll our backers on which game(s) they’d would like us to prioritize.
I want to share a youtuber today that some of you may not have heard of. He goes by Gorilla's Playthrough, and he makes gaming content with the visually impaired in mind. In other words, his content is audio described. He does this with style, using a few audio editing tricks to enhance the experience. All this to allow the blind to experience games they may not otherwise be able to, since so many games are inaccessible to us. I encourage blind folks interested in gaming to check him out, including those who don't currently game themselves but want to experience this form of entertainment in a fun way. I also encourage #GameDev#IndiDev folks to check him out as well. If you are unable to implement blind accessibility into your game for whatever reason, maybe reach out to this guy. Maybe just maybe this will result in us getting an audio described playthrough of your game, which can be its own way of experiencing what you've created. Enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/@GorillasPlaythrough
Hey everyone! Excited to be here as a first-time Mastodon user! 😊 I'm a hobbyist #gamedev learning #libgdx, a :linux: enthusiast, and I have a deep passion for #retrogaming. Looking forward to connecting with like-minded individuals and sharing my gamedev adventures along the way! #introduction
Today I've written about lighting in Shield Cat, and how we can use various effects to bring out the uniqueness of each area and turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. This one's got lots of pictures and videos!
Today #GameWorkersAustralia visited parliament with tech workers from #ProfessionalsAustralia and more from across #actu
It's the first time game workers have had the opportunity to be in parliament house and talk to pollies about industrial issues that effect us.
I'm so proud. This is just the beginning.
And it's surreal, as is every goal we kick. We are real, we're professionals, and we deserve fair treatment and sustainable careers. #union#gamedev
Did you hear? Yesterday I released “2D Or Not 2D,” my first 3D(/2D?) game ever as a submission for #GDTVJam! I would love to hear your thoughts on it~ ^^
