A typical gamedev

The first night since we launched early access has passed.

I bought my own game and got to the end of this early build. And what do you think...

I found a bug that needed to be fixed urgently. So, the game already has an update.

i just released another #PixelArt drop on my Patreon (the post is public, no need to join, although support is greatly appreciated)!

That's 20 more #CC0 backgrounds for everyone to use however they like :)

You can use them in your #GameDev project, or as a wallpaper (4k versions with and without CRT filter included)

It's my impression that no one is making fighting games with #GodotEngine and are using #Unity instead.

Any thoughts?

Spent a small moment to get in some info for commands (for debug or server owners, etc). Hate having to always go to a wiki for stuff for games. (Release so soon, May 30 is coming!) #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #pixelart #farworldpioneers

A player is using slash commands to test /manual and /help, which displays various commands and a quick description and usage for each command.

A collection of subtle mechanics to make movement feel better:

  1. The player slides around corners, if they would hit their head against the ceiling by just a few pixels.
  2. When pressing jump just before hitting the ground, it will be executed upon landing
  3. A small window after losing the ground beneath your feet still allows you to jump
  4. The player scales small height differences automatically; which is important since you can create a platform yourself #gamedev #pixelart

Pixel art of a tropical paradise, featuring a sailboat anchored on the sandy beach. The boat's majestic presence stands out against the backdrop of the azure sea and the clear blue sky. The clouds overhead create an impressive display, with their soft and billowing shapes adding a sense of depth and movement to the scene. The sand on the beach invites you to take a step forward and explore the world of wonders that lay beyond. This image is a reminder of the beauty of nature and the simplicity of life.

Hey #VisualNovel creators =)? Which engine do you enjoy using to craft your games?

I will be teaching a course on creating art for games next school year and was looking at engines where the students can focus on creating art assets and less about technical workings. I think a visual novel might be a good starting point? (please correct me, if I'm wrong!)

I'm looking for something easy to start with but with depth for those who want to delve deeper. Found ren py so far 🤔

HI! I'm Freeman and I'm creating a fully open source texture library composed of base materials that you can use as they are or modify to create more unique and complex ones. I currently have:

-Wood
-Concrete
-Steel
-Iron
-Copper
-A paint overlay to apply over any other material.

I would like to make at least 4 or 5 more for the first release. What base materials would be useful for you?

Boost are really appreciated.

This is the paint overlay. Is simple, but it contains a lot of detail on the roughness map and have little drops of paints that make it more realistic.

I just pulled 189 important strings out of #Acronia's source code and into a string table that's loaded from the WAD file. Aside from purging nearly 5 KiB of string data from the game EXE, it's also going to make localization super easy. #GameDev #RetroDev #RetroGames #IndieDev

Ok, going to make very small 2D Shining Force inspired turn-based TRPG game on #Godot 4 as a learning experience. Amateur assets. 6-12 months.

Follow my nasty furry self or follow #FoxyForce2023 project codename. Posts will be dev-centered (coding rants!), not gamer.

Likely to be: free, suggestive, furry, accessible.
Unlikely, but may, to have: gore, nsfw.
May be later turned into Sega fangame, but will start as original.
Will be casual. Single-player. Short.
