Ready to dive into the clearest waters this summer? Most bathing water sites in #Europe meet the EU's excellent water quality standards.
Since the adoption of the Bathing Water Directive in 2006, the proportion of excellent sites has increased to 86% of all bathing waters in the #EU. This means more protection for your health and the environment.
🇪🇺 "#EU will Verschwendung von Lebensmitteln reduzieren"
"In der EU sollen weniger Nahrungsmittel weggeworfen werden. Die EU-Kommission hat einen Gesetzentwurf vorgelegt, der sowohl private Verbraucher als auch die herstellenden Betriebe zum Einsparen von Lebensmittelabfällen verpflichten würde."
🚨Business Chiefs urge Labour to consider fantastic plan to #RejoinEU under new membership scheme🚨
Bosses of the BMPA, Cold Chain Federation & the British Chambers of Commerce, welcomed any proposals which would reduce #Brexit trade friction
Under the Associate Membership Plan, outer-tier countries would be expected to contribute to the EU’s annual budget in exchange for participation in the bloc’s single market, which #EU insider's say was designed with #Labour in mind
“Hungary’s largest bookseller has started wrapping books that feature LGBTQ+ characters in plastic to prevent customers from opening them in stores after it was taken over by a private foundation with close ties to Viktor Orbán.

Two years ago, the government passed a widely criticised law banning … the promotion and display of homosexuality and gender reassignment”
Get into the car in the morning and drive through France into Belgium on the way to the Netherlands. And the only sign of change of country is a sign along the road that I almost missed. Nobody checked our (German) IDs and we did not need a passport.
Living in the #EU, we tend to take it for granted that we can easily cross borders. But it's an wonder, an achievement, something worth fighting for.
I’m surprised the #EU isn’t going to allow the #meta pay or let us show you personalized ads thing. It seems like a perfectly fair compromise to me. You can either pay Meta through ad revenue or directly and preserve your privacy.
This seems like the EU saying its citizens are entitled to use Meta’s services regardless of their financial value which seems sort of bonkers. Facebook isn’t a public utility.
If your best effort at regulating surveillance capitalists results in “give us €9.99/month not to see ads or use for ‘free’ with ads¹”, you should all probably resign and go hide your heads in shame.
And maybe watch my EU Parliament talk before you do:
Chatkontrolle: Europol will ungefilterten Zugriff auf Daten von WhatsApp & Co.
Selbst ein harmloses Bild könnte für die Strafverfolgung potenziell nützliche Informationen enthalten, meint Europol. Chat-Daten seien zum KI-Training nötig.
I don't wish to upset Ukrainians but they surely must realize by now that the war in #Ukraine is between 2 empires: the US Empire & the Russian Empire. Ukraine is cursed by geography. It'll never have true independence or sovereignty. It's destined to become part of either Greater #Russia or Greater #Germany (cough#EUcough), the latter of which is currently a US vassal, but won't be forever. In any case, Ukraine has no good option. It'll always be under foreign suzerainty.
EU: Samsung and other brands may be forced to bring back phones with removable backs so that we can easily replace batteries
Gone are the days when we could easily take off the smartphone’s battery and replace it with a new one. You didn’t need a heat gun or a specialised tool to pop open the back of your phone, and you could easily do that with your fingernails. It seems like we c ...continues
As the 'junior' #Doctors prepare for another five day walk-out... I'm just going to say this again:
The Doctors have been forced into this position by a succession of #health secretaries who either on their own or being instructed by No.10 are playing hard-ball.
We've seen how #RishiSunak negotiates on the #EU#Horizon research programme... he's prepared to wreck the institution around which negotiations are taking place.
So more #Tory wrecking of the #NHS, not, NOT, 'militant doctors'!
