Which of the following musical artists has the greatest "albums per year" ratio? By that, I mean, the number of full length studio albums (excluding live albums, collabs, or compilations) recorded over the number of years they have been or were actively a recording artist or band.
Vote now!
The ratios will be posted tomorrow after the poll is closed.
Dolly Parton thought that as a country star, she had no right to a spot in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They put her in it anyway — so she made a rock album. She talked to Paramore's Hayley Williams about "Rockstar" (out on Nov. 17), her pride in helping to fund the COVID-19 vaccination, and standing her ground: "There's never an excuse to be rude, but sometimes there's a reason." Consequence has the full story.
Okay, so this week's Tune Tuesday from @Kitty has a theme of "It's For You" from @derthomas. The idea being you can dedicate a song to someone on Fedi.
The album was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Country Album. "After the Gold Rush" won the Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals.
🎧 In the Fall of 2021, #LilNasX covered "Jolene" on #BBCOne. It's a brilliant genderfuck and #DollyParton loved it! She heard he'd recorded the song, found this performance online and tweeted the clip...
"...it's really good. Of course I love him anyway. I was surprised and I'm honored and flattered. I hope he does good for both of us. Thank you @LilNasX"
He learned that news live on a podcast: "Wait. I'm emotional. I get emotional." 💖
Spent last week making a book from the cake box from last year’s birthday. I saved it saying, "I’m going to make a journal out of this," then didn’t.
At the #californiapenshow, there was a couple selling books they’d made. He was just SO ENCOURAGING about doing it. He suggested classes in San Francisco. He also suggested YouTube, which is where I ended up.
Book two is already designed. I’ll likely give it a week, then dive in.
Lyrics:
9 to 5 / For service and devotion
You would think that I / Would deserve a fat promotion
Want to move ahead / But the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is / Out to get me
They let you dream / Just a watch 'em shatter
You're just a step on the boss man's ladder / But you got dreams he'll never take away
