Okay, so this week's Tune Tuesday from @Kitty has a theme of "It's For You" from @derthomas. The idea being you can dedicate a song to someone on Fedi.
Lyrics:
9 to 5 / For service and devotion
You would think that I / Would deserve a fat promotion
Want to move ahead / But the boss won't seem to let me
I swear sometimes that man is / Out to get me
They let you dream / Just a watch 'em shatter
You're just a step on the boss man's ladder / But you got dreams he'll never take away
Spent last week making a book from the cake box from last year’s birthday. I saved it saying, "I’m going to make a journal out of this," then didn’t.
At the #californiapenshow, there was a couple selling books they’d made. He was just SO ENCOURAGING about doing it. He suggested classes in San Francisco. He also suggested YouTube, which is where I ended up.
Book two is already designed. I’ll likely give it a week, then dive in.
Dolly Parton is working “9 to 5” on her forthcoming Broadway musical. While speaking with PEOPLE about her new line of baking mixes with Duncan Hines, the country music legend, 78, shared an update about the highly anticipated Broadway musical about her life and career....
🌤 really cloudy out today ... but some nice patches of bright sun ... think I'll stop at the county dock instead of directly home today ...
🤞 maybe those clouds will make for pretty sky drama at sunset just 2 hours from now 😁
And more new #DollyParton from the Deluxe edition out now! 🎶🎶🎶
Since it’s #DollyParton’s birthday, I’m sharing what I think is the best live version of Jolene.
Her voice absolutely shimmers here. Sounds better than the original recording. Plus, she tells the hilarious story about the real life Jolene at the beginning.
"Honeysuckle vine clings to the fence along the lane
Their fragrance makes the summer wind so sweet
And on a distant hilltop, an eagle spreads it's wings
An' a songbird on a fence post sings a melody
In my Tennessee mountain home
Life is as peaceful as a baby's sigh
In my Tennessee mountain home
Crickets sing in the fields near by"
Listening to the new #DollyParton album, and my first impression is that some bits work - and some bits - well, I’m sure everyone involved had great fun. I’m a lifelong Dolly fan, so I’ll give it a few more goes yet.
