Don't know what to do with myself this evening. Probably go to bed soon. Decided to have a belated think about this week's #ThursdayFiveList, for which @neurothing wants #TheOpener - five favourite opening songs of albums.
I'm not sure I can think of five that I'd say are my favourites. I'm far too tired and there's far too much music.
So here's five that came immediately to mind as being particularly good.
This topic transported me back to a time in my teens.
I didn’t buy many albums but had a friend, Fred, who bought 5-10 a week. Not sure where he found the money to buy them!
Anyhow I would go to Fred’s house on the weekend and listen to the beginning of albums and decide which ones I would (eventually) buy with my hard earned money, stacking shelves in a supermarket.
For today's #ThursdayFiveList c/o @neurothing we are looking for banger introductory songs from great albums that make you want to hear more, aka #TheOpener
#ThursdayFiveList is here again! I was strict this time and only included #theopener bangers that are actual first songs of the albums, not the first "real" songs after an intro.
@neurothing suggested album openers as theme for today's #ThursdayFiveList #TheOpener.
These are my five to jive with, I like them all and they lead into some of my favorite albums.
In this week's #ThursdayFiveList@neurothing asked for #TheOpener songs, which "most of the time, the forerunner that will make you decide to go further with the listening of an album or not".
Let's go back to hallowed antiquity for the whole 🧵
