I watched the first episode of The Acolyte. I’m not sure that this is true #StarWars. They used safety devices like clips and harnesses! What’s next, railings on catwalks that span weirdly common abysses?
@Tim_Eagon I mean like a whole bunch of the expanded universe it was just things that were invented for Star wars by West end games and then Incorporated
@irina@yurnidiot It does, actually! The guy and his brother (I think) run it only for lunch hours, and it's so busy you have to order ahead. He preps in the morning, cook at lunch, you pick it up. Around 2 they close for the day. They provide a limited range, but what they provide is pretty good! Certainly beats the other lunch places in the vicinity.
Okay folks, it's time to talk about the Star Wars movie that came out last week.
Not a movie from Disney, the four hour review on Youtube about the Star Wars Hotel.
I watched it last week and have been processing it ever since.
Reflecting on the review- it has changed the way I see DIsney parks. Where Disney has always been expensive, the idea that they would build a brand new experience that they would charge people ~10k per person per trip, and still offer them such a low quality experience is genuinely shocking.
I'd never seen this Youtuber before, but going down this rabbit hole, this lady knows her stuff, both on Star Wars and even more on Disney Parks.
The review is very long, but I broke it up and watched the whole thing. I think if you're thinking about Disney, even though this offering is now closed, you should watch it too..
And I'd love to discuss the video in detail for those who watched it!
@serge Yeah Jenny's super smart and her documentary on the Star Wars Hotel really is a tremendous work. I can't help but agree with her 100% after watching it. She really backs up her arguments with footage and her actual experience being there.

One year ago today I posted this miniature Return of the Jedi shot I created using practical effects, figures and miniatures. Luke is actually in the shot and wasn't added in digitally he was done using the Peppers ghost technique by reflecting him in a piece of glass then I digitally added a beam from R2 to finish it off.

In my book there's Star Wars (no I won't ever call it that other thing), Empire, Rogue One, Andor, The Mandalorian, and Solo, in that orders, the exclusion of every thing else calling itself Star Wars (and no I didn't forget that one, I could not believe they tried foisting little killer jungle teddy bears on us, i was mortified, still am)
