Yes, I agree. Fortunately & at least, some things are not as bad in the , but there is still enough to do in keeping our societies somewhat humane in these dramatically changing times. )The unnecessary aggressive backlash against (also in Germany) is one point.)

And yes, clean & drinkable will be the most precious resource… well, there are already in some regions…

They did not. They are not. They did not earn that title! That is mine! We are NOT the same OK?

I've been home for 2 days so far cos my bumper is getting repainted due to the original bumper repair failing miserably. (They're paying for it to be re-done, but not for time-off-work! 🤬) I've got 2 more days off work to come (#rideshare driver).

This is so weird.
I haven't taken more than 1 day off in a row since January.

Off to re-watch #StarTrek #StrangeNewWorlds #SubspaceRhapsody! I've only watched it once - and loved it. We'll see how a rewatch goes!

it may be just a question of time - as #Mastodon and especially various client apps are improving the user experience with „search“ and maybe even a self-chosen supportive algorithm (I know it’s a scary word around here), which could bring MY interests back up (vs. strictly chronological) - then their interest will grow stronger …

This clearly seems to follow up the VyrCossont's idea of the extended search feature that finds public posts.

Gargron: "It is my decision to unite all discovery features in one setting, because all of this stuff is an expected part of a social network and splitting it up into different settings that everyone has to opt-into one by one just to get the same behaviour they get by default on other social media seems like a bad user experience. Contemplating making a legit "call out" video for all the leftist (in this case it feels more like "leftist") youTubers who can't be bothered to so much as mention the fediverse.

It makes me kinda angry to hear laments and critiques of "corporate social media" -- but then there is an action one could take-- it's far from perfect- but it's here.

Maybe I shouldn't be angry about it, just start it that way to uh... get attention? Yeah.

IDK if anyone will listen- but, it needs to be said, right?

Certainly, we, who like it here in the #fediverse should not be shy talking about, why we like it - and at the same time sending out invitations and encouragement for others to join.

I started doing this already a little with specific people like e.g.: #TimothySnyder or #MarkHertling, but started to slowly focus more on public organizations, media & non-profits…

(the Org‘s have less reason to hesitate because of large follower numbers)

This spreadsheet is extremely strong evidence for the amazing amount of innovation that is happening in the #fediverse.

The variety and choice of apps that we have here is unheard of (and impossible!) in today's centralized social media products. And this is just Mastodon!

Next time you talk about the fediverse, in addition to no ads, no tracking, no crazy billionaires, and all the other points we tend to make, also say: and there's a lot more innovation.

    I think the thing I hate most about visiting people who live in suburbs are lawnmowers.

    Honestly they are the worst. They make so much noise and you're burning fossil fuels to maintain something that is neither food, nor a cash crop. The entire idea of a lawn that needs this much resource is just beyond stupid.

    At least switch to a push mower. When I visit my parents, I pull out the push mower I bought them. When neighbours see a gas powered mower out, they cross the street to avoid the noise and fumes. When they see me with my push mower, they stop to chat.

    Lawnmowers are horribly antisocial and the lawn lovers don't even realize this.
