#Jasmine is blooming again. We keep them indoors for 3/4 of year & move outside for late Spring-Summer. Good indoor natural air purifying #plant. Flowers are #edible & used to make tea & fruits used in #Chinese #TraditionalMedicine.

Curry tree (Bergera koenigii) fruits, ripe and ready to germinate, with more on the way! I cut and peeled one, very carefully, for a better look. It's basically the whole seed itself, enlarged within the fruit skin. Easy to sprout and take root, I think. I'm going to collect just a few more as they ripen, grow them in pots and distribute the saplings locally, and leave the rest for the birds 🌿💚

The moist wind from the Bay of Bengal is driving the felt temperatures in Gangetic Bengal to intolerable levels, too. I'm aiming to make the most of this heatwave by learning to make pickles and preserves, because the alternative -- climate despair -- is dangerously debilitating.

Generally I'm seeing a lot of people these days post media without and being blasé when confronted about it. Some correct their habits, but not all. Some add very cursory alt-text, clearly they couldn't be bothered doing more. And it really disappoints me, because good alt-text is not only necessary for disabled people anywhere, but also a boon for those with insufficient internet connectivity, AND a great supplement for any media when used thoughtfully.

Just wanted to let anybody who might need this know: iced black tea brewed with rose petals, fennel seeds, and tulsi leaves, stirred with the juice of a quarter of a lime, and with rock salt and sugar/honey to taste, makes an excellent aid for heartache, tired muscles, stressed gut, and frazzled nerves 🧊☕🧡 Also for roleplaying as the best tea monk in Panga.

Yesterday I was very creative at our demonstration table in the museum: my first collage that isn't just paper & paint. There was no audience (people probably used the rare sunshine for outdoor events), but we had fun! Now some small embroidery in gold to finish it. At Brown's Social in downtown with my friend, Natalie. She's a horticulturalist, living in Deep Cove. We had some eats & drinks before going across street for PechaKucha Night VOL. 20.

They played tunes, the whole time we were there. We lucked out on getting street parking, one block away. Then lucked out on empty patio, on arrival. We had our own fire table 🥰

@skinnylatte a lot of Bengalis (myself included) will drop everything for a succulent Himsagar mango. But people are saying the harvest will be small this year because mangoes fruit best in alternate years, and last year had been a good mango year 😞 The only mango that comes anywhere close to Himsagar is the Dussehri.

1/6 “Animacy is an overdetermined word, but so is the idea of the Divine Feminine. The reason I have begun to shy away from the Divine Feminine and the Sacred Masculine is their unfortunate identification with gender and, more importantly, their overidentification with humans and their myopic classifications generally. I haven’t encountered a single vegetable-centered dish at any of the Thai, Japanese, Malaysian restaurants I’ve visited in LA. It is possible to eat differently from the rest of the world (re a conversation a few days ago about always having to order veggies)

(To be clear, I agree everyone should eat veggies if they want! But also that, there are many cuisines which simply aren’t vegetable-centered)

(I had a very large raw papaya salad, lots of fiber but also enough chilli to kill a bear)

I will be starting to create home vids for fellow , starting this month. Exercises will be as & as possible.

Several of them will be done in a chair. Some standing & others are laying down. I don't see many exercise vids made by & for folks available online. I got frustrated, trying to find exercise vids, made by fellow disabled folks.

So, I'm going to stop complaining about lack of them. I'll start to create them, myself.
