Some plants today. Our snake plant at home has been blooming. It's fragrant flowers are dripping with nectar- but since they are indoors, no hummingbirds or bees to slurp it up. Also the plant next to the snake plant is also taking off since I have been watering it so much.
At BrooklynGlass I went to get some neon tubes this morning and saw this neon tube double vase. I should really pitch a quick one day intro class just making lil vases like this out of tubing- so fun!
5 points to anyone who can tell me what the plant next to the spider plant is?
[EN] Although hemp is mainly pollinated by the wind, this female, white-orange flower “stinks” so pungently of overripe cheese that you have to wonder what kind of animal it is trying to please. But the daily changing details of this versatile plant species, which has been banned for decades, are fascinating, even for non-insectoids. If they are not too sensitive to odors ;-)
Thanks for all that photosynthesis, cooling the local environment, participating in the water cycle, giving cover to critters, and being so nice to look at.
Chinese Lantern branch; aka "Physalis Alkekengi," oil painting. This plant draws its symbolic meaning of safety, comfort and protection from the papery outer "lantern" or husk, which protects and envelops the berry.
It’s always interesting to find out what’s shaped a garden - personal taste, visits to other plots or, as in the case of Charingworth Court, a holiday.
I’ve been out to this Cotswold garden ahead of its open days for the National Garden Scheme and discovered a touch of Japan.
I wish I'd been closer—or that this capture had a high-enough resolution that I could zoom in further without noticeably reducing the quality of the image—but even though not ideal, I love what I caught 🐶💗
She looks so happy, and that front paw hovering over the trail is so flippin' cute! Adorable 😍
