@markwyner Well I know of at least 2 sign languages & to my shame I speak neither

There's BSL for British sign language & ASL for American, there are many others

AFAIK ASL & BSL are sufficiently different that speakers of one would have difficulty understanding a speaker of the other, if they can understand each other at all

Sometimes when you learn how something works, you think, Thanks knowledge, that really helped, everything makes more sense, and other times you look up how wrists turn, and it's like WTF?!

@RickiTarr I found that out when I broke my wrist

The surgeon put it back together but the radius & ulnar stuck together so I couldn't turn my hand over

Physio sorted it out, but they basically had to break the join & keep it broken

Even now I can put my hand & forearm palm down on a table but if I turn it palm up it stops about 10°-15° short of flat unless I really push
