Further Mac OS hilarity. I’ve got a folder in my user folder. I would like to set this as my default folder for the terminal to open in. Terminal does not have permission to start in this folder. Terminal can navigate to this folder just fine.

🤷‍♂️

There has to be an equivalent of Windows Terminal on Mac OS that doesn’t look like crap and actually lets you configure it sensibly.

@SamStrong I use hyper (https://hyper.is/). It's fully cross platform (so I also use it on Windows as my WSL2 terminal).

It's very configurable and can be visually altered in a stupid number of ways.

I decided to take a break from Ori and the blind forest as the difficulty is growing exponentially and getting more and more frustrating. Metroidvania, I know, I know, but...

Started playing Fallout 4 and to be honest I'm not seeing any issue with the next gen update, except the screen getting brighter during dialogs. I don't know if it's a setting or something, but it's kinda annoying. Nothing that would make me stop playing though

#ProLifeTip. Put more effort into periodically reinforcing the learning that got you to this point in your career, because at some point you might spend a weekend implementing something from scratch and realising you've literally forgotten it all.

Been battling to get #LaravelSail working with rootless #Podman all evening and aren't having much luck. Boo to overly complex things.

It's so close to working well but the whole uid/gid mapping thing just falls apart when the container starts running things as different users. All of a sudden there're large parts of my source tree that I can't edit, not to mention being unable to use artisan make tools.

I think it was mentioned in an image caption but it's possible to adjust the grind much more than the steps on the wheel by fiddling with the burrs. I don't know how many settings you get out of the combination of the two but it feels like quite a lot.

Additionally, even though the wheel is notched it's quite possible to do fractions. My current bean needs an 8.8 or thereabouts.

Really pleased with these. They've a super clear and bright sound (but not overly so) and anchor in my ears solidly.

On a scale of 0 to "WHAT?" the noise cancelling is right up at "you best send me a message cause shouting up the stairs is pointless".

Also, I love the colour and the transparent bits.

Who else has trouble answering the “Occupation” field on forms, when it’s a predetermined list of options, with no “Other” option?

I guess the closest thing, for me, would be “Information Technology, Systems,” but I’ve spent much of my adult life explaining to others that I’m not in IT, so it feels wrong to select that.

My man, Sammy Piccolo, of Vancouver's Caffe Prado. He first poured the shapes in 2003. I think I actually have some photos and video of his early tulip pours, I need to find those.

When playing a shooter on #SteamDeck with trackpad, I saw a suggestion to use the left trigger for firing.
It makes a lot of sense, not only considering the SDs size and the strain it puts on thumb + index finger to have to stretch so far, but also in regards to precise movement of the thumb.

It makes me wonder why not all games have the trigger on the left. Seems like there could be merit even when aiming with the stick. (At which I'm awful anyhow.)
