Apparently org-roam doesn't search in tags as default, why oh why!

Isn't that the whole point of adding tags, to be able find shit using them?!

Anyhow adding the following fixes it:

I gave up learning #emacs long ago when I discovered that the terminal emulator of my #psion5mx couldn't send some keyboard combinations needed by emacs (alt-x if I recall correctly). I simply had to become a vile #vim cultist 🤪

For anyone unaware, Google Chrome is currently rolling out an update that track your interests based on browsing history, then share them with 3rd party websites. The notification page makes it sound like they added a new privacy feature, but in actuality they automatically enrolled you into their tracking system and you have to go and manually opt out.

@juliobiason yesterday I returned to the #birdsite. It didn't look that bad. Perhaps any big enough #socialNetwork resemble real life: every city has bad neighbourhoods, where we don't feel safe or at home. We learn to avoid bad people or dangerous zones. I have been asked to maintain our (#catholic) #parish page on #facebook and I found wonderful people there.

I predominantly use a self-hosted SourceHut (I used to use CGit) to host any new projects, especially those related to my browserdev efforts. In large part because these servers will work better with the client I'm writing...

Professionally I'm steered towards GitHub by my clients, & if I take over a project there I'm not rushing to move them off.

I encourage those adopting my code to audit it...

Purtroppo #Telegram è facilmente censurabile avendo un bel #singlepointoffailure. Mi sembra anche #Signal. Ci sarebbero #session, #briar e #simplex ma sono ancora più di nicchia. L'unica "a prova di censura" e proponibile ai meno tecnologici mi sembra sia #Jami che se non erro è caldeggiata dalle amministrazioni francesi da sempre bendisposte verso il #softwarelibre ( #SoftwareLibero )

Globally we produce A LOT of , but did you know the majority of fossil energy gets wasted? In the US alone, two-thirds of that energy is wasted as heat.

As Hannah Ritchie has pointed out, we don’t actually need to produce a low carbon equivalent of all of the coal, oil & gas we currently use.

That means we can decarbonize quickly by being less wasteful & more efficient.

Producing steel and cement require quite a lot of thermal energy. Ditto for aluminum recycling (refining instead is a game where electricity shines 😁).

The only quota that can be actually be cut by cutting CO2 emission is the 21.2% of thermal waste in transportation.
The other is recycling the waste heat of industrial processes to heat homes (my city does exactly this)

    #WebSerialAPI looks like a great idea. Then think about the potenti al dangers of browsers running on machines operating industrial apparatuses. The consequences could be devastating. In that cases it is much much better to provide a local application that would serve an API. It is still potentially hackable but it greatly reduce the exposed surface

    This has mostly been reported as "trans women banned from women's chess" but it's much more sinister. (as if it weren't already.)

    ALL trans people are targeted by this ruling. Trans men will be stripped of all chess titles won, which can only be returned to them by “changing the gender back to a woman” (from the ICF’s ruling). ALL transgender chess players will be marked as trans in their files.

    If you play or know anyone who does take a stand on this. It's ugly.

    Paxo Phone (#ESP32) is a wonderful achievement for a 16 years old dude. Yet according to comments on https://hackaday.com/2023/08/03/open-source-cell-phone-based-on-esp32 it's modem is "only" 2G which is being phased out in many countries. Ditto for 3G (in Australia)
