Berlin PEP: progressive except for Palestine, as seen in Berlin. In an exhibit called “Berlin Global” at the Humboldt Forum showcasing supposedly freedom-loving Berlin, people are invited to place political stickers on an interactive installation. I placed a Free Palestine sticker. The guard discreetly thanked me & explained how museum staff will remove the sticker while others will remain. The hypocrisy of the exhibit is telling; oppression of Palestine solidarity is widespread in Germany.

The poem has been praised around the world & translated into numerous languages. It speaks of hope & love amidst grief & tragedy. Today Vancouver joins the world to commemorate Palestinian Land Day. On March 30, 1976, Israel confiscated thousands of acres of Palestine land.     Israel has reached a collective, shared delusion where every building in Gaza is a Hamas outpost & every person in Gaza is Hamas. This mass psychosis is giving the Israeli occupation forces & the Israeli government permission to continue it's racist ethnic cleansing & barbaric genocide. I’m aware of gratefully taking in oxygen from the surrounding trees with each in-breath. As I exhale, I gladly offer up CO2 to these magnificent trees with each out-breath. Oxygen in. CO2 out.     Palestinian Sun Birds

    The Palestinian sunbird was declared the national bird of Palestine in 2015 after Israel tried to change its name in their ongoing effort to erase Palestinian identity. The Palestinian sunbird is now a symbol of hope and freedom.

    As long as prints are sold, all proceeds will go to Medical Aid Palestine (MAP).

    Healthcare professionals are continuing to be killed by the hundreds in Gaza by Israeli forces. Amidst this genocide, nowhere is safe and no one is safe. On Friday evening, February 2 - a vigil to mourn and honour those whose lives were taken whilst they were attempting to save the lives of others will be held at Vancouver's Robson Square (adjacent to the Art Gallery).     This article misses the point IMO. This isn't about taking sides or politics. It is about whether or not Canadians stand with the facts and the law. If our government's position is to ignore either one for political gain, our democracy is in great peril.

    Additionally - pretending a thorough investigation is not necessary, or deciding that some countries are above such scrutiny is not sustainable.

This is the fifth time Israeli forces have viciously bombed Palestinians who are encaged in Gaza by the Israeli occupation since 2007. The collective will to live free of this racist, violent oppressive regime understandably leads to resistance.
