Right. I absolutely have stuff to do that isn't sitting here so I will just add this better photo of the windy spot, as the compression on the gif above definitely killed the view a bit.
Feeling slightly cheeky about riding on the coattails of affection for Tony Hart with that last video, but if it's making people smile I think it's OK.
And honestly, rejigging the timing on all the dancers to make them actually fit a single piece of music properly would have taken sooooooo long. I needed that gallery vibe!
Morning. I dreamt last night that there was a Masto / Fediverse meet-up, something along the lines of the emfcamp that's happening this weekend, where people were giving talks about various things (Welsh was one, the history of the River Thames was another.) People were hanging out in their various groups and making food together (it was being held in a hostel / big country house type place) and it was just quite cool to be able to come together like that.
@emmaaum@sheepnik Oh, I could team up with a nature expert, so I can point at something and say "that looks like a great spot for a tiny person to chill out", or "that obviously needs a face there" and someone else can say "that's a [whatever] and..." 😃
Apropos of nothing, if you need something lovely & funny to listen to for 44 minutes, and have access to BBC Sounds, I can heartily recommend the 2024 special of John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme. A gentle tale of village life. Superb stuff.
@coprolite9000 Yes, I live in a small village and a lot spoke to me too! The line about there being a lot of paths compared to the places to go had me howling, and we have a LOT of informal local democracy!
Every Friday for the last 52 weeks I have added a new dancer to the canvas. I now claim my crown as Queen of Pointless Projects & hope that you all have a splendid weekend, if you possibly can 👑
I use Animate to make these (which is what Flash became) which isn't what anyone would start with these days (I am old and stuck in my ways!), then ffmpeg to compile the final files.
ffmpeg can take a sequence of any images and stick them together into a gif or animated webp, so is really powerful.
I'm about to head offline again but more than happy to chat about specifics if he wants to fling any questions my way, but I might be slow to answer atm!
