Another thing I like about St John's Wort - they provide an exceptional style guide for any aliens that invade earth and want to breed people in organic pods.
Oooh, the indestructible St John's Wort in the garden is budding. It's growing in the wrong place (hence I know it's indestructible) but it is very photogenic.
You buy them food, keep their water supply clean, keep quiet in your garden to avoid disturbing them, and when you pop out with your camera they just turn away from you.
Right. I absolutely have stuff to do that isn't sitting here so I will just add this better photo of the windy spot, as the compression on the gif above definitely killed the view a bit.
Feeling slightly cheeky about riding on the coattails of affection for Tony Hart with that last video, but if it's making people smile I think it's OK.
And honestly, rejigging the timing on all the dancers to make them actually fit a single piece of music properly would have taken sooooooo long. I needed that gallery vibe!
Many years ago there was an art show for kids on UK TV which would show a gallery of viewers pictures while playing Left Bank Two. When I got to a year of dancers I thought I should at least put them to music once, but finding something to fit them all would be impossible, so I thought I'd make a musical gallery with that vibe.
Here it is. A year of Fridays & some easy listening.
A hand drawn animated video. A rainbowappears and disappears on screen with sparkly ends as the title screen reads: Project #FridaySparklyDancers. Sparkles and rainbows and groovy moves. Initial target: add a dancer every Friday until I run out of space. Secondary target: may as well try and do it for a year now..." Easy listening music comes in and a series of 52 clouds drift by, some going left, some right. Each has a rainbow appearing and disappearing, and a single dancer doing their unique and occasionally inexplicable moves. Each cloud has a number, showing which week they were the dancer for. At the end the copy reads "Have a good weekend if you possibly can" with the word good also surrounded by the words sparkly, wonderful, funky, joyful, splendid and relaxing.
Have had a few days with a visitor taking all my time (not in a bad way) & have spent this afternoon trying to get back into action, not hugely successfully.
A couple of days back we went to a marketplace with this vintage bus destination poster for sale. Was quite tempted to buy it to put behind my desk.
