(magnetic fields here were only produced by galaxy formation winds or jets, i.e. no primordial magnetic fields were considered at the start of the simulation)

    #IceCubes made a change to hide the full username (@ user @ server) by default and just show the display name. Fortunately this is configurable. I like seeing the full username. The display name is more likely to change than the username, and the server gives a feel for where they are in the landscape of the fediverse.

    Just found an extra very scary feature of #chatgpt , which makes me depressed.

    The only use I was making of it was to indent codes (I write with 0 indentation, and I am proud of it!) and occasionally to ask it to add explanatory comments.

    Well well, the latest result was peculiar: its indented version actually contains new code it fully made up! 😱

    So I cannot even trust this to put all lines of my code in order, nice....

    ngl i care a lot about code style (despite what i say) but the rules for when to put space around an equals sign in #python are kinda complex

    @ufofeed It's interesting that we can infer its existence based on comets that probably originated there, despite the cloud itself being too far and faint to observe.

    It's like a lot of things in science, where there's a fuzzy edge of what we can directly measure, and beyond that we have to make educated guesses.
