@EugeneMcParland I saw the movie "Kursk" the other night. A submarine that sank in 2020. The tragic trail of neglect and secrecy that led to the death of 118 crew, and the tardy refusal of help from others shows that nothing has changed in the intervening 23 years.

@shadowspar my wife had her Swiss army knife confiscated at the airport. It was quite a basic one too that I'd bought her for her birthday. And she'd forgotten it was clipped on her key ring.

I just saw an ad on TV offering me a cut-price cremation.

I apologize to those more charitable than myself about evil scum-sucking arseholes, but I like it when someone who has brought so much harm for so long finally improves this planet by leaving it.

He spent decades swindling old people out of their life savings and spreading a toxic version of Christianity that was really a re-branded fascism, poisoning the American political landscape for his personal gain.

Good riddance.

I had something weird and unpleasant happen on Mastodon. Nine months ago, when I still tweeted, someone argued with me about #COVID19 on Twitter. He got abusive, so I blocked him. Yesterday, he showed up on Mastodon, and his account has ONE post: Attacking me about my COVID posts. The guy chased me between social networks just to abuse me! (Of course, he's blocked again.) How creepy is that? Who stalks people across the internet to abuse them for wanting people to protect their health?

Had a wonderful trip out yesterday. The ARC - archæological resource centre - at Chester House Estate, Irchester near Wellingborough in Northamptonshire. It is one of two ARCs in the country, the other one being Museum of London Archæology, and has a mountain of artefacts which are accessible. They date back to at least 10,000 years ago. You can go online (chesterhouseestate.org) to book a free guided tour, and there are also other attractions - cafe, Museum, etc. Beautiful setting. If you're in the area please go and visit. We'll definitely be going back again to hold objects in our hands.

I keep thinking back to this Microlino at Fully Charged Live. Reusable water bottles became acceptable, being vegan is now cool, and so is wearing vintage clothes. So who is going to step up to the critical task of making small cars fashionable? The trend towards giant SUVs is ludicrous, incredibly wasteful and dangerous, and bad for our cities. If you must use a car, it should be as small as possible. Where are the micro-car visionaries/influencers? WE NEED YOU.

@helenczerski hear hear. And the çar shares/clubs where you pick up a car on the street, use it and park. So you don't need to actually own one. Like the bikes and scooters.

Funnily enough, Edinburgh’s online parking complaint form doesn’t have an option for parking over Zig-Zag lines. So I reported it as a double yellow.

If anyone has a better way to report, I’m all ears.
