Trump has been convicted of falsifying business records.

From our perspective, the outrageous thing is that some people are more concerned with whether he violated the law in a business transaction than with the concrete harm he has inflicted on human beings. The fact that so much of the damage he has done was legal shows the worthlessness of the law itself, which is usually used against poor people and to suppress movements against oppression, genocide, and climate change. This particular court outcome will not buy our allegiance to a fundamentally repressive legal system.

The Geneva International Peace Research Institute (GIPRI) has accused the Ursula von der Leyen of complicity in #genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by #Israel in #Gaza.

The complaint has been filed by GIPRI against the European Commission head at the #ICC.

The complaint is supported by various human rights groups and prominent scholars and experts in international criminal law.

Murdering tens of thousands of civilians, most of them women and children. Rendering 1.7 million more homeless. Commanding the refugees to crowd into tents in a designated “humanitarian zone,” then bombing it, killing dozens at a time. The Israeli government has done all of these things on purpose.

Think how many more Palestinians the Israeli military might have already slaughtered if not for the pressure brought to bear against them, chiefly as the result of grassroots protests. This is why we have to keep organizing and taking action in solidarity with Palestinians. If we let this kind of brutality become normalized, the future will be bloodier than we can imagine.

If I manage to find the energy for it, I want to write about how Assadist infiltration in many Palestine-related spaces in the West risks making it much more difficult to effectively organize against oppression everywhere, including Israeli oppression. It’s become common enough, these days, to see prominent defenders of the genocidal Assad regime at protests and other spaces. They’re never the majority, but they’re amongst the most active authoritarians out there.

One detail here is that Israel backed down from confiscating AP equipment (as in they returned it) after the US told them to immediately return it. Just an easy example of how much the US is able to do here but simply chooses to make it worse instead.

There is zero doubts in my mind that Biden could have imposed a ceasefire and/or force the Israelis to conduct targeted assassinations instead of full-out war, let alone the ongoing genocide.

The Telegraph headline on Palestinian refugees is in essence identical to how rightwing British tabloids wrote about Jewish refugees when Britain denied them safe refuge during the Holocaust.

These institutions are dedicated to White supremacy at all costs. They view us as disposable nonhumans.

Any PoC and/or Jew who thinks these people are on their side is wrong. They may temporarily pretend to not hate Jews or Ukrainians or whoever but that’s all it is: temporary.

Maybe it will help if I state very clearly some of my political stances:

Israel-Palestine:

  1. Anti-Zionist. I’m the grandson of a Palestinian refugee who died without ever being able to go back. I could understand aspects of Zionism until they decided to do the Nakba. It’s been completely unjustifiable since then.

  2. What is happening right now in Gaza is textbook genocide. States that continue to supply Israel with weapons and funds are complicit in genocide, especially the US and Germany.

@ayoub living in Germany as an immigrant from a country destroyed by colonialism, it is kind of scary to see otherwise reasonable, progressive-identified Germans reproducing the very same colonial excuses of the last 500 years, word for word, when defending why it's ok for Israel to exist as an occupation of previously inhabited land, nevermind that genocide is the price.

the occupation is ok because the people living there are retrograde, hostile, murderous barbarians, rapists of good white women, follow an evil religion, do not make good use of the land, oppress one another, need to be forcibly civilised, resist cultural assimilation, this is a terrible thing but such is our burden, usw.

The European Union has effectively signed off on the Lebanese plan to deport hundreds of thousands of Syrian civilians stuck in Lebanon as refugees to Assad’s gulags and/or to a life of fear and misery. This is happening.

The EU gave Lebanon’s ruling warlords and oligarchs (including Hezbollah, by the way) one billion Euros even as they were publicly discussing their deportation plans.

This is against international law, and the EU is directly complicit in it.
