I signed this and emailed my MP and asked Senators to vote YES on Bill #C223 for #BasicIncome and send it to the Committee. It's time the rich helped the rest of us.

@Paulatics

RadicalRox,

@kevinlovestech @Paulatics I just watched Senator Simons’ YouTube speech and I think a lot of the people who wrote to her on this issue must be only children. Clearly they have not had their leg pulled or been punked by their siblings which would have taught them how to know when they’re being tricked. I hope they learn to stop being so gullible.

RadicalRox,

@kevinlovestech @RadicalRox @Paulatics there’s a group of videos at the bottom of the petition article. Here’s Senators Simons https://youtu.be/8XveTwm0FyY?si=d0QrfwfaZkIivOO8

Fair point. However, too big of a team usually leads to problems and possibly people I don't want to support. In most cases I honestly prefer to subscribe to individual journalists because I want to support them and their work.

The point here isn't Substack. I won't read anything there anymore.

RadicalRox,

@kevinlovestech it’s just not feasible to have an adequate news media based on singular subscriptions. We’re going to have to be reasonably flexible on the journalist’s and consumer’s side to create a sustainable solution. Having good editors will go a long way to achieve the quality and scope of reporting that would be necessary for success for everybody.

RadicalRox,

@kevinlovestech they don’t need to be large and they don’t need to be completely profit based. I don’t see a reason why other structures can’t be used like cooperatives or nonprofits.

Jamil Jivani, 's candidate in the March 4 by-election in , Ontario, doesn’t live in Durham.
He’s never lived in Durham.
He’s a parachute candidate who has absolutely no connection to the riding & every conservative operative across Canada is helping him cover up his views. Bell Media fired him in 2023 for his discriminatory comments.
➡️ Jivani is also a former adviser to Premier Ford

RadicalRox,

@gemelliz @pinhman @justinling PP has taken Harper’s communications and marketing strategy to the next level.

RadicalRox, to random

Hey Canadian Media, why are Pierre Poilievre’s cpac videos, styled as pressers, suspiciously staged? The “reporters” are from fringe news or obscure journalists and the questions seen designed to set up PP’s answers. Enquiring Canadians want to know! #cdnpoli #cdnmedia

ned, to edmonton

Not surprisingly, if you take a look at the Alberta Proud group right now you will find them cheering on the City Hall shooter, sharing their disappointment that City Councillors and the Mayor weren't killed. Then gloating about the police. This is all the work of the Alberta government harbouring all the extremists. They just shifted their war on the Feds to the municipalities, accusing us of making backroom deals with the Feds to build housing and help the 75÷ of Albertans in the cities.

RadicalRox,

@ned as terrible as that is, those attitudes having been lurking in the dark shadows of Alberta for a long time. They’re just not hiding it anymore.

gemelliz, to Ottawa

I suspect many Canadians feel the same...

"Invoking the Emergencies Act would not have been necessary in Feb. 2022 had Police & the government taken action to prevent a foreign funded Far Right mob from occupying & terrifying Ottawa.
The mob waved Nazi flags, harassed residents, & advocated revolution."

RadicalRox,

@CanadianCrone @gemelliz @GeoffyPJohnston I’m incensed at the giddy right wingers smugly in their glory equating rights to destroy & torment others as Charter Rights. Who in their right mind can defend the occupation of downtown Ottawa, important border crossings and airports as the “only means disadvantaged individuals have to make themselves heard” (a guest on CBC Canada Tonight). There are many other options that are not as disruptive and harmful, especially to the PM, which was the intent.

and are nasty little boys that have somehow weaselled into positions of power that they are not qualified for.

RadicalRox,

@CanadianCrone true but Dougie at least has the semblance of a grown up. PP and AS look like they should be carrying a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lunch box.

akurjata, to random

I genuinely don't want to be sarcastic about this because it's good to have the data points but this also feels like the least surprising news ever https://www.cbc.ca/news/business/homeownership-statscan-1.7033628

RadicalRox,

@CanadianCrone @DavidM_yeg @dan613 @akurjata @CBCNews CBC is really hit and miss. Some reporters are excellent while others are like teenagers in the school newspaper looking for the gossip in the news rather than the important facts and implications. One of my pet peeves about CBC Video is how they freeze the images of Liberals in unbecoming frames while showing the “friendliest” moment of the usually scowling Conservatives. Do they think it’s cute? Clever? It’s not. It’s juvenile.

RadicalRox,

@CanadianCrone @DavidM_yeg @dan613 @akurjata @CBCNews CBC digital/print is worse than CBC News Network. Admittedly it has taken a considerable investment in time and energy to gauge who, what and how much to use from CBC, it is still worth it. Overall it’s still an important source of information for Canadians. That and CPAC.

Sask Party overrides the courts and human rights to pass their pronoun legislation yet, “It said it expects all divisions and teachers to follow it.” Along with their direction to SaskEnergy to not pay the Carbon Tax, our provincial government breaks whatever federal law they want too but threatens anyone who challenges their provincial laws. #hypocrites #facist #skpoli https://leaderpost.com/news/saskatchewan/dozens-of-defiant-saskatchewan-teachers-say-they-wont-follow-pronoun-law

Mom applied for a house and pet sit in Calgary. Really hope she gets it. Would lead nicely into her Saskatoon house sit.

RadicalRox,

@kevinlovestech where does she find all these house sits?

Why don’t the provincial premiers pause any of their provincial taxes to help their constituents that are having such a hard time with the cost of living?! And who do you think they will call on to demand help when more climate related disasters slam our country? C’mon people, don’t let the premiers of the hook. Keep the carbon tax, axe the provincial tax. #CanPoli #carbontax #AxeTheProvincialTax #KeepTheCarbonTax

Calling for a "pause" instead of a ceasefire contains the implication that the violence and killings will one day resume, and I'd like instead to not have that.

RadicalRox,

@monicarooney @ned @JoBlakely good point. Rather than bickering about ceasefire vs pause, focus on stop the bombing, period. Every bit helps. Every pause saves lives.

RadicalRox,

@monicarooney @ned @JoBlakely Definitely no ethnic cleansing. Ever. Anywhere.

Poilievre’s latest gimmicky attack phrase is “Trudeau not worth the cost”. Well, when I shop, I shop for quality. I don’t want a Dollarstore PM like Pierre Poilievre. #PierrePoilievre #TackyPoliticalGimmicks #CanPoli

Apparently Premier of NB, Blaine Higgs can’t function with the defiant MLAs in his caucus. What does he think of the defiant citizens that voted for and support those MLAs? Canada feels like the high school A-student who enters university and realizes how little they know. There’s a steep learning curve ahead.

Haha, this is great! Perhaps the debacle will come with a positive outcome...

'"In view of the scandalous events in the Canadian Parliament, which involved honouring, in the presence of President Zelenskyy, a member of the criminal Nazi SS Galizien formation, I have taken steps towards the possible extradition of this man to Poland," Przemysław Czarnek said in a social media post Tuesday.'

Bye, bye, Nazi!
Now let's quit with the Canadian infighting over this.
