Left ankle: hugely swollen, yet only somwhat painful.
Right knee: slightly swollen and puffy, yet incredibly tender, unstable, and difficult to use.

Is the difference due to the AGE of the injury? The left ankle was horribly twisted 50 years ago and has continued to hurt periodically over the past 5 decades.

Right knee eroded due to arthritis, only painful for the past decade, tho increasingly.

FWIW, I get the usual advice from every MD: RICE. Take painkillers.

@thepoliticalcat That sounds bloody awful for the sake of being independent… avoid putting weight on it to avoid opiates as far as possible. Elevate it when it’s swollen. Or use cool water footbaths. If possible see a rheumatologist to check for arthrosis, and get an mri. Avoid painkillers stronger than paracetamol if possible. Nsaid’s do bad things to the rest of the body, so weigh that against the pain. Get a second opinion on muscle relaxant. Try weed if legally safe

@DenOfEarth @thepoliticalcat there are various signs, but no real test i believe. The levels of electrolytes that can get very problematic can of course be monitored with simple blood tests

I don’t know why people justify owning guns by saying they bought the gun to protect themself and/or their family when it's only adding to the problem and especially when there are better solutions, such as my plan which is to fend off any attackers with the Judo skills I learned by watching my brother take lessons at the YMCA when we were in elementary school.

@RickiTarr i think the classic grand tour would go from england, across france, switzerland and down italy. But i’m not shelley thank god so the tour would have to be different, and i would rather visit amsterdam and brussels than autobahn

Oh, Dairy Pics from yesterday! I've never seen such happy cows, and the cheese was sooo good!
