Seriously heard someone saying they don't listen to many black artists, because they aren't really into rap. Bitch please, feel free to share songs from Black artists from any genre. Here is one of my favorites, if you like this song please check out her other work:
Had lunch with a friend. She's married, as are most of my friends. We were talking about another woman in our neighborhood (who is divorced). My friend said single people shouldn't live here and that it's for families or couples.
I said, "I'm divorced, I live here."
She changed the subject.
I tooted something earlier about people in my demographic. I've encountered this a few times, the notion that the unattached should only live in apartments and not around families. WHAT is that??🤔
@dancinyogi That's simply the myopic view of the world many people have when they don't generally come in contact with "the other." We've all been there. Whether it's your first contact with another race or culture or if one has simply lived too long in a bubble.
@StillIRise1963 My son is in the 9th grade. (In Germany) He regularly has classmates from various countries. A lot of them speak English in addition to their mother tongue, but not much German. Since he's bilingual from the beginning, (I'm American and Mom is German) he spends a lot of time translating. This has truly had an effect on how he sees other cultures.
@Sheril My hair decided ten years ago that it no longer wanted anything to do with me, so I can't really assume my opinion counts. However, I am glad that you found an equilibrium.
Let's be clear. Trump was NOT indicted by Biden, Clinton, Pelosi, Soros, Big Bird, Target, Wokeness, Disney World, the pride flag, critical race theory, or Barbie. Trump was indicted by private citizens—as the US Constitution requires. Period.
I know Duolingo is garbage, but I still use it to learn the basics of a language before visiting a new country.
Since I can HEAR the words in the app and I’m decent at mimicking sounds, I can read things off a menu and order, but the problem is that my pronunciation is apparently so good that people immediately assume I’m a native speaker and start responding VERY quickly so I then have to be like “I’m sorry, I have no idea what you’re saying because I’m a dumb American and only learned a handful of super weird and useless phrases off Duolingo, but I CAN say ‘the cat thinks the sandwich is tasty’ in Dutch, if you’d like?”
@Alice Yup! I stood in line in Spain and put the sentence together to ask for tickets to Alhambra. Got to the counter and asked, "Tiene Usted entradas para la Alhambra?"
The guy behind that counter QUICKLY began to ask me what time we would like to visit!
At the same time, my wife is asking me how in the world did I do that and I'm telling both of them, "Slow down! I'm doing my best but it's breaking my brain!"
