Yesterday, at home, I was able to use #Vivaldi 's built-in adblocker fine on Youtube. Come in to the office today, and I had to shut it off because videos are inaccessible. #UBlockOrigin and #PrivacyBadger by #EFF work just fine though.
I'd love to not have to use other extensions, but looks like we're not quite there at the moment.

Wow #AdBlockPlus has turned into a spammy up-sell pile of plop. I usually have #uBlockOrigin but there's a few computers I've used recently where an ancient install of #ABP is installed, all it seems to do is serve its own upsell popups !

People need to know about this technology which empowers users over greedy, controlling corporations.
Update: As many have pointed out, you can use @thunderbird as an RSS feed reader, and there are many #firefox add-ons to restore the RSS indicator (one of which I'm already using). But my point is that Firefox needs to lean into RSS as an answer to all the crap that is the modern web, and help educate users about it
Online-Tools zur Messung der Wirksamkeit von Ad-Blockern sind leider wenig praxistauglich und liefern in Kombination mit Browser-Add-ons oft irreführende Ergebnisse. Am besten verzichtet man auf sie und verlinkt sie auch nicht, da gerade Anfänger/Einsteiger davon irritiert werden könnten. Empfehlt stattdessen die Installation von uBlock Origin und anderen zuverlässigen Ad-Block-Lösungen. 👇
Just finished helping my grandfather solve some of his issues with #thunderbird. He didn't know how to create lists of contacts. I quickly set this up and closed maybe 1000 tabs (I don't know how he opened that many). I was also surprised to see he still uses #Firefox, although all his extensions were gone. Reinstalled #Bitwarden, #uBlockOrigin and #istilldontcareaboutcookies. Now he's fully open sourced again. He even mentioned that he thought about sponsoring Thunderbird.
Sometimes I go entire days without realizing how my experience using a web browser is vastly improved by various third-party tweaks. My sanity is at least partially preserved thanks to the work of all these extension developers; they are the true unsung heroes of the modern internet.

Le pire "dark pattern" que je connaisse c'est celui du site de partage de fichiers "1fichier". Lorsque je ne peux pas faire autrement pour récupérer un fichier spécifique, je l'ouvre SYSTÉMATIQUEMENT en navigation privée. Je serais pas étonné que cette UI soit illégale.
Sur de "petits" écrans (11 pouces ici) l'utilisateur est OBLIGÉ d'accepter les cookies pour fermer le popup "n'attendez plus". À moins de dézoomer à 70℅… @Looping

Вчера пытался перейти на Яндекс Браузер - не смог, к вечеру вернулся на @firefox.
А все из-за рекламы, которую Яндекс активно продвигает даже платным пользователям и заблочить её ни какими средствами не получается (половину плагинов удаляющих рекламу установить не возможно, приложение Adguard спокойно рекламу от Яндекс пропускает).

Here is an update about #YouTube#AdBlock slow downs. It was not YouTube’s fault it was certain AdBlockers if you used #ublockorigin you were not affected. It was a bug in AdBlock Plus and related extensions with their conversion to the new requirements to update extensions to the latest standard that Google is forcing. They introduced a bug 🐞 which caused this issue.
