So with my new found knowledge of upsetting me and causing me to leave it... The fact the only other engines that are not just proxying google or bing... Is or and while brave one is nice... I just cannot bring myself to use something that funds a biggot... Then mojeek just feels dated and not great...

I am tempted at bringing fuzzysearx back... and even look at trying to leverage the built in ability to add custom engines to look at leveraging other abilities... because searxng really seems like the only ethical way I can see to leverage search engines collecting data...

@StopForTea look I get some sites needing to make money in some form to stay online… but I just not sure what the best solution here is. I know BAT tried to solve this, but crypto and shitty owner etc(getting off track here). I think if we had some sorta browser tipping system kinda like that, but then all the different currencies… ugh its just so complicated, and I don’t want to pay a monthly patreon just because I might only liked that one post and might not come back.

Idk… it’s complicated and wish there was an easy solution.

@SabreMc sadly the only furry home server left is https://chat.bark.lgbt/ the owners of the other ones shutdown for similar reasons to us. I spoke with the owner of bark and they don't seem like they are going to shutdown for those same reasons.

@arch @SabreMc yeah? The problem is that at a certain scale it gets kinda costly to operate when your services actively loose you money. However, the real reason is the amount of illegal content you happen to catch in the dashboard that you cannot do much about... and with US laws around me being responsible for certain types of content on my systems... with it all being encrypted it makes it a very unsavory position to be in.

@arch I literally just did a save, and ran the command on their docs and migration took less than a minute. https://www.dragonflydb.io/docs/migrating-to-dragonfly/from-redis-instance/snapshot-and-restore

Whelp I am now back on linux, but this time I am on Arch. I am pretty happy so far, getting things setup and not having any bloat at all, one of the things I have really liked about the clean Arch install.

folx - how easy is it to port Unity stuff (VRChat avatars animations etc) into Resonite? Any major changes needed? If memory serves Resonite is built on top of Unity right?

@KayOhtie @arch animations the way you import them on vrchat is different. That said, worlds and avatars are pretty straight forward. I suggest joining the official discord they have tons of volunteers who are happy to help people.

Here is an update about #YouTube #AdBlock slow downs. It was not YouTube’s fault it was certain AdBlockers if you used #ublockorigin you were not affected. It was a bug in AdBlock Plus and related extensions with their conversion to the new requirements to update extensions to the latest standard that Google is forcing. They introduced a bug 🐞 which caused this issue.

I am curious, how many of you still read #blogs as I know this will be somewhat skewd beause a lot of you all are here more techy and such. But do you prefer more video content or even blog posts that have an audio version where you can stream the audio of the post.

Personally I still read blogs, but I will admit where I do a lot of multi-tasking work these days I typically use a screen reader to read aloud the post to me while I work if it is a particularly long post.

Please boost as I am really curious to know…
