I want to publicly thank @grunfink for creating the amazing snac2, which powers my instance.
They've read everything I noted, suggested changes, and adapted the code to make it work optimally even on my slow VM. If all open source developers were as kind and helpful as they have been with me, the world would be an idyllic place.
A shoutout to @stefano too - using snac2 was his idea, and he's responsible for the technical implementation of the instance.
And thanks to everyone who makes my timeline interesting and complete - without you, all of this would be utterly pointless.

What’s up with the owls at the library? Four 12-foot-high barn owls with 3-foot-high heads grace the corners of the building's roof. They're augmented by 75-foot-wide and 40-foot-high swirls of leaves and seed pods. Those ornaments represent growth and wisdom.
#OurFlagMeansDeath is a show about queer pirates and finding community as societal outcasts. It's arguably one of the most important pieces of queer media to have been released over the last number of years.
So, of course it was axed.
I've tried watching it 3 times now, and personally am not a fan - but I see how important shows like this are. My housemate (who is also queer) LOVES it. We often talk about the support and home the fans of this show have found - fans who are primarily young queer and trans people, a lot of whom don't have a home elsewhere.
Please sign this petition because the fandom of #OFMD are trying to get it renewed for a 3rd season.
