“Confront the catastrophe with shouting, with your hand, with writing, with anything other than silence. History does not remember silence.” - Husam Maarouf
The thing is, my grandfather Hasan was born in 1926, which means 22 years before the establishment of Israel. My grandmother, Khadra, was born in 1935. They both died ill in a refugee camp. They both lived stateless…
“While Harriet Beecher Stowe shamed Americans about the United States’ dehumanization of African Americans & slavery, Ayn Rand removed Americans’ guilt for being selfish & uncaring about anyone except themselves. Not only did Rand make it ‘moral’ for the wealthy not to pay their fair share of taxes, she ‘liberated’ millions of other Americans from caring about the suffering of others, even the suffering of their own children.”

Neurodiversity and Capitalism
by Robert Chapman
This is a priority read for me!
I’m looking forward to how Chapman explains the emergence and rise of the pathology paradigm and its entanglement with the fundamental logic of capitalism. On the Importance of Conceptual Contrasts Madness, Reason, and Mad Pride

Firstly, I want to thank everyone for their support of "Fireside Fairytales". I'm really touched anything I do brings joy.
Unfortunately, my laptop shorted today. I'm trying to resurrect my old laptop b/c it is $$$ to replace my laptop & I have no money at all. I'm tempted to link my Ko-Fi, but I won't b/c it's too much money to ask of a small community.
TL;DR - until I get my old laptop working--or replace it--there can't be streams.
Some very kind people made #donations to my Ko-Fi to help out with the laptop(* see note). I didn't know how to say "thank you" so I made little #stories and #FlashFiction as thanks (one isn't fiction, too! It's a story of how I broke a different laptop 10 years ago).
[*though I should reiterate it is too much money to fix or replace the laptop than I can reasonably ask for in donations]
