The artist we're working with on some sprites suggested we try adding shadows near walls to help distinguish them spatially.

So we're experimenting with an ambient occlusion (shadows in corners) shader in Ostranauts!

This pair of images shows the effect on vs. off.

Hey folks, the beta for Shattered Pixel Dungeon v2.4.0 should be ready to start this coming week!

The beta will have everything I've shown off so far, including a new item category, changes to alchemy, and changes to the Duelist. There are also some levelgen additions! Entrance and exit rooms in particular are going to become more visually varied.

So a friend who loves the flail weapon in Pest Apocalypse wanted to know how many flails you can equip?

This led me into a deep hole of debugging and optimizing my horrible flail code to try and squeeze as many flails as possible into a video 🤣

I'm happy now, but I sure wasn't happy while banging my head against the wall for a few hours fixing things 😁

It's not quite a cable, it's a tentacles, but the concept of creation is very similar. Particles in Niagara that keep a certain distance between themselves. Maybe someday I'll come up with something to do with it 🐙

More work done on the improved destruction model. Some of the modules can be volatile upon destruction. In this case, missile bays. Higher-tier hulls like this one usually have additional armor layers protecting vulnerable modules from AP ammunition.

I have mixed feelings about working on UI: on one hand it's both surprisingly complex and tedious. One the other hand when things do work, it's super rewarding.
