#gaming
#retrogaming (doubt it)
#kitchen stuff?

Also wondering about a #soundbar for my #tv, SAMSUNG 65-Inch OLED 4K S95B

Are wireless soundbars "there" yet? Are soundbars really worth going for? I always wanted real surround but it's a a pain to do the wires. IDK if I can trust wireless though. I mostly game on the TV, latency would be death.

I desire #HomeAutomation without excessive maintenance of my own servers etc. I'm content to use a random app, as long as it'll talk to Alexa (don't tell "Ok Google" on me! (Why doesn't it have a cute name?))

No, @pgenera , I don't want #HomeAssistant , though I did find various Raspberries Pi on the move.

So, Seattle, I have a question! What's your favorite fancy or quirky little treat from a small shop in Seattle that is Way Too Tasty to be real? It could be dessert, or anything else. What's your favorite secret little nook? :ablobfoxbongo:

Does anyone know how SAD lamps work in terms of on the person who is using them.

Does the SAD lamp have to be in the user's face/eyes or does is it skin contact that makes it work.

I'm photosensitive AF and I know other photosensitive people who get SADish which is how this query came up.

Do we even know how SAD lamps work? (or if there's evidence for them at all)

Not that I need to buy something new, but I think I want a #Linux tablet … or, really, more of a Linux laptop without a keyboard (because I’ll use an Atreus).

So, what’s good hardware in this space? I don’t need awesome specs (I mostly dev over SSH). Touchscreen is totally optional, but I would love a good collapsable stand that holds the screen up off the table (more like a Roost than a kickstand).

Dear @borgmatic #LazyWeb,

I run #Borgmatic as root in systemd so I can pull /etc/ as well as /home/.

But when I borgmatic mount I want to be able to use a graphical file manager.

What is the proper way to do it?

I searched online, I experimented with a few things, and so far no luck.

does anyone have any good ideas for ways to utilize the space in this walk in closet, especially above the top shelf (yes, very tall ceilings, yes I'm short, yes I will just keep a step stool in here if I have to).

Before I just had my sweaters and jeans stacked and it was a mess. (but they're rarely worn here so it was ok that they were up high- I just want it to be tidier). thanks!

Is there a good place for online ? Specifically , but also interested in other trick-based games like . Ideally something suitable for a senior (read as: light on ads, no crapware)

MomJ wants to get back into it. She used to play on Yahoo! Games and they had a great interface, but it looks like the service is long gone.

Why does a UBI container running on a VirtualBox VM that was installed from a RHEL ISO have access to all RPM repos, when a UBI container running on an EC2 instance launched from a RHEL AMI does not, when both host machines are registered and subscribed?

#linux #aws #redhat

EDIT: Because RHEL AMIs ship with manage_repos = 0 in the RHSM config, for some reason. Edit /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf or run sudo subscription-manager config --rhsm.manage_repos=1.

#lazyweb question: are there are any WIT parsing tools available that just go from stream-of-bytes to concrete syntax tree and back again? Possibly formatting along the way?

Dear #lazyweb, is there a good #MediaWiki workflow for synchronizing the content of an article with a Markdown (or perhaps reST) file? I would like this to be truly bidirectional, so edits to the article show up in the file and vice-versa.

I enjoy having a personal wiki, but darn if "open my text editor (on the same system) and plop down a link" wouldn't be more convenient as a general rule.

has anybody else had these odd emails from AWS?

I set up my account nearly 15 years ago - back then AWS had my VAT details checked - they validated OK

nothing has changed at my end

what prompted AWS to look at this again?

email 1 at 0045 on 20 Sep says they have "received" and are "reviewing" my VAT credentials

email 2, also at 0045 on 20 Sep says my VAT credentials have been accepted

did somebody at AWS simply click a wrong button?
