I recently moved my #Mastodon#instance to a new #server and suddenly nobody's reacting to my toots. Is this expected behaviour? Seriously, not even a #caturday post 🙀
Well shit. I hate to jump ship, but it appears this instance is not a good fit for me. Got one to recommend? Seeking a place that's not going to declare news events and political photojournalism as "NSFW content". (I may as well stay on facebook for that kind of nonsense.) Sharing cat photos is a blast, but I also have forthright opinions about what's going on in the world. If there's a specific Mastodon instance you think is up my alley please share!
My goal and my dream is to make AllThingsTech.social to be as successful as possible. That doesn't necessarily mean having a large number of users. It means that I want #AllThingsTech to be a safe, welcoming, fun, enjoyable instance for anyone and everyone who becomes a member or anyone who interacts with our members.
I just want a happy community all around that people are proud to call home and engage in great conversations!
I use the web interface to access the friendsofdesoto.social instance and I've noticed recently that #Explore seems to now give a network error when using Firefox on Windows 10 Pro.

Do you have a solo #mastodon or #akkoma#instance? Is it worth it? What are the drawbacks & benefits in your opinion? Is it painful to setup and/or maintain?
The challenge with labeling Mastodon instances as a “community” is there is a non-trivial percentage of users who don’t have just one community, interest, or affiliation.

@onepict@rachel they can prey on each other, or leave of their own volition. I have good reason to believe that the humans who want no part of the corporate instances will continue to update the methods used to keep the abusive instances from doing abuse.

Here on this #instance, I don't see anything, but when I search on journa.host for @zuck, I'll get a SSL-error. So there is something there, even if it doesn't work yet. Anyone with more details?
It is so important for me to be able to #EditPosts, that that alone is a big disadvantage in using #Bluesky by comparison to #Mastodon. The developers could add that option at some point, and I very much hope so.
At the moment, that difference is even more inconvenient than having a smaller #CharacterLimit, problematic as though that is for me, also. In any case, that can vary according to #Instance.
