#gameDev#devLog - spent the day trying to knock out the game's core gameplay. Unfortunately got tripped up by Godot4's pathfinding - for some reason the NavigationAgent2D module kept trying to path right through walls. #godotengine
Took advantage of another national holiday here in Italy to add a plugin-based architecture to KIAVC, my #pointandclick#adventure game engine: the idea is to allow people to add functions and features not natively available in the core. Still very early stages, but it already allowed me to implement, e.g., a dumb rain particle system. Feedback welcome, especially if you have ideas on what makes sense as a plugin, and what should always be in the core instead! #gamedev
Another ludum dare down! (Teamed up with a friend of mine for the art again) Once again...planned WAY too much and spent a good portion of the time cutting everything back. Ended up making a fairly complex Dragon Quest 1 style game in C++/SDL2, ended up just being single file. One of these day's I'll actually scope right. But hey, it has some rough edges but it does play fairly well!
Another #gamedev Humble Bundle today. The RPG Assets Mega Bundle is a huge (63 item) collection of 2D graphic assets for Fantasy and SciFI style RPG games. In RPG Maker format, but easily usable in #GodotEngine, #Unity3d, etc.
Hi! I'm Nat and this is my #introduction post! :catawuWave:
I'm an #artist and software #engineer that loves to play #videogames, especially #mmo games. I also like #camping and #hiking. I live up north, in a cold place, but with a lot of trees and lakes.
I am doing #gamedev on a couple projects that I will likely post about, and I #stream as a crab-themed #vtuber
This crate allows you to easily render pixels into a buffer. In this release, I've reworked the whole API and added a ton of new features. My favorite feature is the showcase/tutorial example which can run on the web: https://tversteeg.nl/blit/showcase
The new API allows for drawing a subrectangle of a sprite(sheet), tiling a pattern, dynamically scaling using slices or any combination of the above!
The Games for Blind Gamers 2 Game jam is over and now is in the rating phase! A lot of participants had never made a blind accessible game before, so please go give them encouragement and feedback so we can make even better blind accessible games! Boosts are also appreciated to help spread the word! https://itch.io/jam/games-for-blind-gamers-2
