In the year since #RoeVWade was overturned, the #Republican Party has tested out constantly changing talking points & messages on #abortion in an attempt to make its anti-abortion policies sound less #extreme. #Conservatives are even considering moving away from the term “#ProLife,” fearing that voters have newly negative associations w/the label.
— even if they must be treated w/blood transfusions in #IntensiveCare — in lieu of being given an #abortion, in order to deliver “an intact fetal body.” In situations like this, #WomensHealth & lives are #endangered the longer they remain #pregnant. To groups that seem to value a fetus’s survival above all else, that’s a risk they’re willing to take.
Leave it to a chronically ill patient doing research to restore her own health and vitality to become the Rosetta Stone for one of the possible causes of #MECFS.
Some women today — particularly high-income, highly educated ones — are using alcohol as a stress reliever. "Gradually, booze has become the 21st-century 'mother’s little helper,'" says Olga Khazan for The Atlantic. She talked to experts, and looked at the history of sedatives that are "meant to resign women to their fate."
"The galvanizing impact this kind of personal testimony can have on public opinion was demonstrated by the #Texas case...
That lawsuit drew widespread attention in large part because of the plaintiffs’ graphic, first-person accounts in court. In one particularly harrowing moment, a woman vomited on the stand when she recalled how abandoned she felt after she learned of her baby’s fatal anomalies." https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2023/09/12/abortion-rights-lawsuit-medical-care/

"Statton arrived — bleeding and barely able to walk — at the Oklahoma Medical Center, where she was denied an abortion and instead sent to the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. There, the complaint says, she and her husband begged staff members to perform an abortion but were told to wait in the parking lot until her condition deteriorated. Statton fled the state on a three-hour drive to get an abortion in Kansas" https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2023/09/12/abortion-rights-lawsuit-medical-care/
""I think one of the most frightening statements, which was at one of the hospitals, the person was trying to be reassuring and she said,
'Oh, well, you know, in the case of a medical emergency, we would try to use the woman's body as an incubator to just try to keep the pregnancy going as long as possible,'" Heisler says."
😡"use the woman's body as an incubator... as long as possible"😡
this is not a subject us guys speak up about very often, maybe because we feel it's none of our business, but i'm going to pull the "i have my own history of weight issues" card here and talk about it anyway...
a lot of people seem to think that the girl to the left in this chart is the one with the ideal body weight, when in reality, she's slightly malnourished.
people who are thin as bones and close to anorexia get an unhealthy amount of positive attention in the media. and i don't understand why.
as a man, i woudn't really think of a girl as fat unless she looked like number 4 from the left. number 3 just looks like she has a relaxed attitude, which i feel is attractive in its own way.
aside from the horrible beautify standards that the media pushes on us these days, i imagine that girls must get a lot of abuse from toxic people to feel this insecure.
They help get people who need abortion or gender-affirming care in areas where care is illegal or impossible to get. Elevated Access connects them with volunteer pilots to get them to the care they need.
How menstrual segregation thrives in urban households

The fascist Republican agenda has FAILED yet again. Ohio now joins Kansas and Kentucky in rejecting the GOP's war against women. Today is yet another victory for CHOICE, COMMON SENSE, and FREEDOM.
