I adored S1 of Picard (IMO the single best season of Trek ever), and thought S2 was okay (but a big step down). I thought #TheNextGeneration was generally bad television, so my hopes for this season are not high.
Especially since I read the showrunner wants this to be a better finale to NextGen than #Nemesis was, and I thought Nemesis was one of the best NextGen stories.
Was thinking about #TopChef today and that reminded me of the excellent guest role Padma Lakshmi had on Enterprise which made me want to ask y'all: Who's been your favorite guest star/role across the #StarTrek franchise?
Trying to watch "In Theory" and they do the "never before seen crew member who is good friends with our protagonist and enjoys a closeness with him none of our regular heroes do" shtick and I'm already fed up.
Gerade hier im Fediverse scheint Star Trek aber extrem beliebt. Daher hatte ich überlegt, mir das Ganze dann doch mal anzuschauen. Wo würde man denn heute einsteigen?
I remember what a big deal it was when #StarTrek The Next Generation premiered. I was still in high school but went to college soon after where I found out I was not the only Trek fan on the planet.
We take Star Trek for granted today big time, back then it was a miracle we were getting new adventures with a new crew and new ship every week. The series had ups and downs but overall I adored it and it set the tone for the modern franchise we love. 🖖

One of the best DS9 and TOS crossovers episodes ever!

DS9 (10ET): Trials and Tribble-ations*
VOY (11ET): Inside Man
ENT (midnight): Twilight
If a human is exposed to raw space vacuum, they will not freeze any time soon. Vacuum is an excellent insulator, because there is no matter that can transport away your heat (convection), like in an atmosphere or liquid. Managing heat is actually a problem in space, especially with sunlight.
Rapid evaporation may cause cooling in certain parts of the body though.
Latest episode of Star Trek: SNW got this wrong, so has a lot of other shows, movies and books in the past.
Watch out folks I'm gonna live toot this shit in a thread. Subsequent toots will be CW'd so I don't spoil this masterpiece of a show. #StarTrek#LowerDecks
Seriously, it's not good Trek to do a hard prequel of a 60 year old show. The appeal of SNW was to do a hard and modern fork.
Now, as the show goes on, five great female characters (Una, La'an, Ortegas, Chapel, Uhura) are going to be pushed out by five male characters from 60 years ago, rebooted only 10 yrs ago. All while normie trek fans eat it up.
