I ask this relatively regularly because I want to keep an eye on the landscape.
I'm a software engineer with a PhD in international criminal law. I am on the lookout for (open source?) projects that are useful to human rights researchers/activists/defenders. I am hoping to contribute as a volunteer software engineer.
If you know of a project like this, please get in touch. If you don't, please boost if you'd like!
Dear #opensource enjoyers: an open issue does not indicate a bug in the project. It does not even indicate the maintainers read or are aware of said issue.
The only thing it means is that some person reported their experiences or thoughts and would like the maintainers to be aware of them.
Try to think of issues more like emailing a stranger publicly and not like a ticket to an Enterprise IT department. It'll spare everyone a great deal of anguish.
It is that time of the year where I promote the 42/C4 concept again. It's the result of many years of working with #OpenSource projects and leadership/ego problems. It defines a better way to organise, where ego is removed and code becomes iteratively better and better, in unexpected ways. It was written by a friend of mine who has left us years ago.

Cool, all my #2FA tokens are gone. Because an #OpenSource project got bought by a shady company, which now, after almost a year of owning it, broke the app with their first(!!) update to it!
Oh and of cause they want money in form of a subscription now. Can't make this shit up.
Finally wrote about a topic, I have been thinking for a long time: a KDE Apps initiative. There are already more than 200 KDE Apps, but this is not enough. So let's more KDE apps together!
