"Why is it that every time a bunch of conservatives get together, a bunch of rich old white men get together and start screaming about freedom, people lose their freedoms?"

Our "betters" need to be gone. Its either us or them at this point. No more peaceful protest bullshit. We either fight back, or we are going to lose everything. Like it or not, this is where we are at now. Make a choice while you still have the freedom to do so

Uhhhh...well shit...

AnonymooseGuy,

@BlackAzizAnansi Everyone with embryos in storage in Alabama should immediately transfer responsibility to the state claiming statutory usurpation of parental rights* leaving the state to find surrogate mothers, maintain the healthy home life and education to legal age of 10's of thousands of embryos, and bear the legal consequences of the ~40-50% #IVF transplants that fail which, according to the Alabama decision is, at least negligent homicide.

See ya on the playground new parents!

Thinking about the Alabama Supreme Court decision.

There has to be a group of people who are in shock that their votes for pro-life policies mean that they might not become parents or grandparents.

One of the implications of the decision is that doctors can only make one embryo at a time, and that embryo must be transferred no matter the quality. If the cycle fails, the process must start again.

"Each transfer requires months’ worth of expensive medication, including injectable, both before and after the procedure. And each failed cycle requires the patient to start all over again. Most states (including Alabama) do not require insurance to cover IVF, and each cycle can cost up to $30,000."

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2024/02/abortion-bans-alabama-ivf-explained.html

Even if someone in Alabama had insurance that covered IVF, I highly doubt that insurance would cover the procedure if done out of state.

Yeah we are worried! We extracted a number of eggs, which we then proceeded to , grow , and pic the faster growing ones from. That's a standard procedure in . Unless you only got one or two eggs left, you pick from the best. Then you the rest for next time. Except now my 's maker is broken and frankly we good with these. So what? We were paying $500 a year to keep the others for a few years. So then we stopped and now we are murderers in ?

Heads up! If you live in Alabama and have frozen embryos stored at a fertilization clinic, you have a good case for claiming them as dependents for tax purposes now. Get those child tax credits!

Proceed directly to the Social Security Administration and have a social security number assigned to each embryo.

Apply for food stamps, Medicaid, and other social assistance based on your new, higher number of dependents.

The #Alabama Supreme Court ruled Fri that frozen embryos are people & someone can be held liable for destroying them, a decision that #ReproductiveRights advocates say could imperil in vitro fertilization (#IVF) & affect the hundreds of thousands of patients who depend on treatments like it each year.

The #Alabama case focused on whether a patient who mistakenly dropped & destroyed other couples’ frozen embryos could be held liable in a wrongful-death lawsuit. The court ruled the patient could, writing that it had long held that “unborn children are ‘children’” & that that was also true for frozen embryos, affording the fertilized eggs the same protection as babies under the Wrongful Death of a Minor Act.

The Alabama Supreme Court ruled that frozen embryos conceived via IVF are considered “children” under the Wrongful Death of a Minor Act. The ruling reverses a decision by a lower court that dismissed a wrongful death lawsuit involving three couples undergoing fertility treatments https://www.healthline.com/health-news/alabama-ruled-ivf-frozen-embryos-are-people-what-this-means-post-roe#:~:text=The%20Alabama%20Supreme%20Court%20ruled,three%20couples%20undergoing%20fertility%20treatments. #AlabamaFascistState #ReproRights #GOPTaliban #abortionrights #womensrights

Is this what you call new energy?

Introducing my beautiful son Samuel, born at a gigantic 4.37kg, and very happily sleeping on my chest at home.

He was the result of our 4th cycle. He was so very wanted and is so very loved. His namesake is the biblical prophet Samuel, who was born to Hannah after an extended period of infertility and prayer. We felt a lot of kinship with her.
