    1. Go to this Steam Support page. In case this link ever stops working, it's "Home > Steam Community > I'm still having trouble with a Steam Community feature". https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithCommunityContactSupport 2. Click on "Contact Steam Support". Fill in your details and click on send. You should take your time to compose this, highlighting how you created your account before you realised you were transgender, how your current Steam account name makes you feel, and that changing this would very much help alleviate the feelings of dysphoria. 3. Steam Support will ask for information to confirm your identity as the account owner. They'll provide you with links to various identification methods (credit cards; PayPal; activation codes/CD keys; Steam Wallet codes; other options). Reply back with attachments of these (.jpg screenshots are fine). https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/40A0-8B4B-B54B-C51A 4. Once Steam Support has verified that you are indeed the account owner, they will give you precise instructions on how to verify that a Steam account name is available (and how to avoid accidentally creating a new account).
    "We will also need your new preferred account name. To check availability of names, you can start a new account creation process. After verifying your email address, the next page allows you to check the availability of account names that you might want to use. Please choose an account name that is available and uses only the a-z, 0-9 or _ characters, excluding the hyphen (-). Important: Do not complete the account creation process, as that will render the chosen name unavailable. Finally, log out of Steam anywhere that you have your credentials stored for quicker login. You can continue to use Steam normally - log in and out and play games as you'd like - just don't select the option to store your login credentials until we're done with this process. Please reply here with your new chosen login name when you've logged out anywhere that you've stored your credentials." Once you've done this, they'll confirm the Steam account name change and that you can log in as this now in all relevant places (e.g., Steam client; Steam app on your phone; Steam website on your browser/phone).
