Fun fact

In elementary (primary) school during second grade (year 2) I checked out the book “How to run a railroad” the entire school year. I kept renewing it. The following year in third grade (year 3) I was banned from the library. My mother quickly resolved the issue and was pissed at the school for trying to ban a student for wanting to read.

Looking back I was clearly in the wrong, but I thank her anyway.

Article 13, Section 7 of the Minnesota Constitution states

“No license required to peddle.

Any person may sell or peddle the products of the farm or garden occupied and cultivated by him without obtaining a license therefor.“

Because of this wording a group of Minnesotans is arguing the state constitution allows them to sell their home-grown marijuana — they’re legally growing — without a sales license and are asking a judge to weigh in.

I used to work 12 hours plus drive time, 1 hour up and 1 hour back. Never again. It also didn’t help that it was 3 weeks on days then 3 weeks on nights. Completely awful. Hopefully the bands will be good when your on your regular days off.

My platform is pretty simple,

  1. Stay out of other peoples business.

  2. Universal healthcare

  3. Tax reform, eliminate ALL deductions and everyone pays the same cut. (10 percent?)

  4. Corporations are not citizens and employees including CEO’s who do illegal things get 25 actual years in prison.

  5. Cap interest rates at 2 percent above the savings rate.

  6. Right to privacy and the right to be forgotten.

  7. Contract reform. Terms are NOT changeable AFTER the fact.

Swiss public broadcasters RTS and SRF are drastically reducing their communications via the social network X (formerly Twitter).

It's kind of absurd that your options on fedi are to opt into literally all CWs and having to manually expand them all or opting into none of them ever. You should be able to have a list of words that collapse CWs automatically but otherwise have them open by default

I know that glitch already solves this via regex but it's client side. This really should be stored in your account so it works across devices and applications automatically

Here is my personal take on the TikTok drama.

  1. The app and service is trash.

  2. I personally think it should be banned along with Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Reddit and Instagram because it’s only purpose is to harvest data.

  3. Any law banning TikTok will most likely be struck down as unconstitutional.

  4. A better approach would be creating laws codifying the right to privacy, data retention, data destruction and banning the sale of data from these services. No exceptions.

It’s opinion piece written from my perspective. What I want and what the law or life will allow don’t always line up.

For example I would love to make a million dollars a year but that’s not going to happen or I want a 140 foot tower in my backyard but the yard isn’t big enough.

I wouldn’t ban it because of the speech component I would ban it because it harvesting data from children who are unable to consent to any other contract in our society and have no understanding of the negative consequences of letting this data be harvested.

The two issues are legally distinct.
