I love my @Mastodon feed. I follow so many interesting people that post and boost interesting things. Every other platform is garbage and full of ads. I’m so happy I put l in the effort to engage and liberally follow people here from the outset. And I’m an example of someone who is on a one-person instance that is fully connected to the fediverse and what it has to offer.

When I Bookmark something, it's just for me.

When I Like something, it's just for me and the person who made the post.

When I boost something, it's because I want to share it with others.

There's no software in the background recording and evaluating my behavior so it can decide the best ads to show me, and what I should see or not see in my feed to increase my engagement.

It's pretty nice not being the product anymore and just enjoying the web again.

Excellent visual case study on Threads' lack of privacy and how Apple can better highlight it. It also contrasted Threads versus @Mastodon, and as we already know, the Mastodon app is truly privacy-first and doesn't collect anything.

If Meta follows through on #ActivityPub support, it's still a win for everyone. The masses will remain on centralized platforms. They don't care about privacy. Everyone else who wants choice and privacy will win because we can all connect.
