Looks like it's time money was spent and the network reopened.

They did it at #Okehampton and it worked. Investment is worth it. Now for numerous other Devonian lines & stations.

We urgently need regular six car trains at least, 7 days week.

If you're forced to stand on any train journey, the journey should be completely free of charge. Dream on.

They clearly don't give a damn about consumers, only lining the pockets of the energy giants and their shareholders.

It's high time all utilities were re-nationlised so as NOT to put profit before service.

It's so wrong to arrest anyone for such a thing.

The 'adults' don't want to hear what the kids/young adults are saying as it means they'll need to take action and change their ways.

Something most just won't do, even if climate change kills them.

Makes me wonder why I bother to pay insurance.

I've never made a claim, but if I did what's the betting that they'd somehow wriggle out of paying up by saying that I wasn't covered for what I was claiming for.

Insurance is just a big money-spinner.

This guy has been accused of a crime that he never committed, and now he's being asked to pay for the privilege of being isolated from his loved ones in the prison system.

Surely it should be those that incorrectly banged him up who should be paying, and also paying damages to him for the life-long inconvenience he'll suffer as a result.

The evidence that cars don’t work as primary mass transport in cities is everywhere: traffic jams, air pollution, accident rates, the shocking fraction of city space taken up by parking spaces, safety barriers/bollards etc. This 100 year experiment should be declared over, and we should put proper effort into the systems that HAVE been shown to work and scale: walking, cycling, e-cargo bikes, cheap/accessible/reliable public transport. This “argument” about LTNs is just lazy delay.

Litter pick this morning at a grot-spot on a local footpath that has been getting worse every time I see it.

Decided to do something about, and cleared a bucket full of the usual things - plastic bottles, beer cans, dog poo bags, disposable vape boxes.

Also a bag of alcohol bottles & 4 bags of garden waste, all dumped next to a litter bin.

Bottles will go to the bottlebank later, garden waste to my garden bin for the Council to collect, few other bits for recycling.

    Jon6705,
    @Jon6705@mastodon.world avatar

That's the second full bag of alcohol bottles in as many days that I have collected for taking to the bottle bank.

People are quick enough to buy the full bottles from the off licence or supermarket, and manage to get them home. It's too much effort to take them to the bottle bank for recycling.
