I'm in the minority in that I really do not like getting my hair cut/done. I never have. First of all, it takes forever to thin out and no matter how much I fight with the stylist, they swear they can give me a blowout despite my curly hair, so I'm in that chair for two hours of agonizing small talk while they beat my hair into submission.

But that's just me.

@dancinyogi I’m lucky because (a) my hair is slowly making its exit anyway, and (b) I’ve known my stylist since he and I were in the same production of To Kill A Mockingbird in 2010, so there’s always local theater and shit to talk about. Once he retires, I’m just gonna get some clippers and take care of things myself. Which is the long way to saying that if it weren’t for Michael, it’d just be me and a FloBee.

@dancinyogi I’m sure you’re right. I’m in and out in under 15 minutes. Can’t imagine sitting there much longer than that.

After several decades of long hair, my spouse went back to a short cut a couple of years ago. Between that and allowing herself to go gray naturally, she is in the same boat as me. Plus, but she and her stylist are both introverts, so they just STFU the whole time. #Paradise

The phrase "no worries" usually doesn't bother me at all, but I am in customer service chat hell, and if the agent types "Okay, no worries" one more time after completely missing my point, I may lose it.

Can anyone advise me on what's wrong with my #turntable? It's a Pyle that I picked up about ten years ago. I just replaced its cartridge, being sure to put the wires on the proper pins per the Pyle manual. Now when I turn it on, I hear a quiet, low-pitched buzz from the left channel. When I play a record, the right channel gets the music, but the left only gets that buzz. I re-connected every wire in the signal chain, but it didn't make a difference. Wondering where I went wrong. TIA

I've been thinking back to that vulnerable age of 11 and 12. Before I pushed myself to join the dance team, I was shy. For those 2 years, I'd take home the list of extracurricular clubs to join. Yearbook? Too many popular kids. Debate? Too many smart kids. FBLA? Too many popular AND smart kids. Geeky Stacy would never fit in, so she joined nothing. But then, I joined the dance team. Despite that, I was still geeky Stacy inside, though (still am!)

What were you at 11 and 12?

@dancinyogi Things were basically good at 11, but age 12 is when the bullying really kicked into high gear as I went into seventh grade. Band was—thankfully—my safe haven. I cut so many classes to attend PM band practices, if only to avoid the bullshit that went on in the hallways.

@dancinyogi I went from trumpet to baritone horn to French horn and finally landed on tuba. My band director was amazing. He let me borrow any instrument I wanted just for shits & giggles. Studied the tuba in college & still play.

Def couldn't pay me to go back. Eighth and half of ninth grade were even worse. New, awkward kid in a different school and different state. Could NOT have been timed worse.

What is/was FBLA?

Trying to keep this hashtag going. It's easy to feel jaded with the way things are going politically. The violence in the world makes us feel helpless. Ineffective. I think what made social media such a great concept was how it brought people together to learn from one another. We can still do that.

If you know how to do something, teach us how! Pass down your knowledge. What you think is insignificant could make someone else's life easier!

@dancinyogi When you tie your shoes, make that first loop, then when you bring the shoelace around to make the second loop, bring it around twice, then finish the knot as usual. That will dramatically increase the amount of friction in the knot, making it nigh impossible to work itself loose. My college physics teacher taught us that and it has only let me down twice since then.
