At my in-laws’ house getting started on the long process of clearing it out. Found this gem from 1998 being used as a monitor stand. It’s about 2.5” (65mm) thick and holds dozens of literal bookmarks. #Relic#SoDusty
@CaptainFlab Given the self-destruction of search engines, maybe it's time for a printed Internet Yellow Pages comeback. Perhaps with QR codes?
On a small scale, you could make 3-ring binders with local websites and put them in public spaces like coffee shops, so you can easily add or remove pages as websites come and go.
I can parallel park like a fucking boss, but when I’m comes to backing in like this, I’m useless. We still talk about this incident. #EightYearsAgoToday
[Clears throat, takes a deep breath] IF THE JOB REQUIRES ANY AMOUNT OF TIME IN THE OFFICE, IT IS—BY DEFINITION—NOT REMOTE! DON’T ADVERTISE IT AS BEING REMOTE!!!
The Somerset Patriots is a minor league baseball team in north Jersey. For three games this summer they are changing their name to celebrate one the things for which #NewJersey is best known: The Jersey Diners. It’s a brilliant piece of marketing that I could not help but get behind. I ordered a cap and pin and they threw in a paper hat for free—just like the kind that is traditionally worn by diner staff. It’s also what their mascot wears (see my cap). Nice touch, folks! #NJ
Now has come the time in my recovery where I begin to liberate much of the “material” that had settled along the walls of my upper respiratory tract, one mighty coughing fit at a time. #Ewwwww
Can anyone advise me on what's wrong with my #turntable? It's a Pyle that I picked up about ten years ago. I just replaced its cartridge, being sure to put the wires on the proper pins per the Pyle manual. Now when I turn it on, I hear a quiet, low-pitched buzz from the left channel. When I play a record, the right channel gets the music, but the left only gets that buzz. I re-connected every wire in the signal chain, but it didn't make a difference. Wondering where I went wrong. TIA
Felt a symptom this morning, but didn’t quite appreciate what it was (or could mean). When I got to work I could feel joint pain in my hands, but was more concerned that it might be the onset of arthritis. Then my forehead felt a tad warm, so I finally put all three together and asked the school nurse to check my temp 98.8, which is 1.3 above my norm. NBD
By afternoon, fatigue had set in, as had body aches. Temp went down, tho. Went home early and got serious chills. Gonna be a fun night.
