Felt a symptom this morning, but didn’t quite appreciate what it was (or could mean). When I got to work I could feel joint pain in my hands, but was more concerned that it might be the onset of arthritis. Then my forehead felt a tad warm, so I finally put all three together and asked the school nurse to check my temp 98.8, which is 1.3 above my norm. NBD

By afternoon, fatigue had set in, as had body aches. Temp went down, tho. Went home early and got serious chills. Gonna be a fun night.

    This is precisely the kind of LP I hope to find when I go scrounging through the cheap bins in record stores! It’s a compilation by K-Tel from 1974, and like most of its ilk, it’s a contemporaneous look at pop music from that year. I think of it like a core sample from the arctic that shows what the atmosphere was like millennia ago. In this case, it’s songs that were popular at least for a short time, but may not have stood the test of time. I eat this stuff up! #Vinyl #Vintage #KTel

    School staff maintains a few little gardens outside one of the buildings. This morning I walked past the head chef as he was hauling a big handful of leafy greens back to the kitchen. The air was positively thick with the glorious scent of fresh basil. What a beautiful way to start the day!

    @dancinyogi I often lament the fact that I don’t have easy access to baseball without cable, but it’s times like this when I’m grateful I didn’t watch it happen in real time. Still, it was fun seeing them get all the way to game 7 of the NLCS!

    @dave In the two years I worked remotely I found that I was more productive because I could manage my distractions. I didn't have random co-workers stopping by my desk and chatting with me. There was also way less ambient noise to draw my attention away from what I was doing. O how I miss all of that.

    I feel a bit like my grandmother, cooking at 7:30 a.m. She used to start her legendary marinara this early and let it simmer for hours and hours.
    Putting together a lasagna for my neighbor, and this is the only time I have to do it. Nothing like the smell of marinara and spices first thing in the morning. 🍅 🍝 🥘
