Unfortunately we will not be working for a few months at least in Iceland - our small house is being lent to a family who have had to move because of volcanic activity and it really is not very big! But if you get the chance, it is a wonderful place to be.
And yes, a wetuit is not necessary if you choose the right pool.
Finally followed through on my plan on going #swimming in the morning. And I reached a milestone in regards to my life long #aquaphobia; I actually swam in an area I couldn't stand in without panicking or needing to hold on to something.
Granted, I stayed close to the edge in case I did panic, but it wasn't needed.
Small thing but maybe the swimmers out there can relate. Discovered today that I've been doing breaststroke wrong for the past 40 years!! After realising that I have a very high stroke rate, I did a bit of reading. Tweaked my glide phase (quite radically) today and knocked 20 strokes and 30 seconds off my 100m. 🏊♀️ Would like to go back in time and have a word with my school PE teacher, who I've just found out wasn't just a mean bully, she was also very wrong. 🐬
Public holiday for the Grand Final Parade this Friday and at this stage it looks like it will be a glorious 26 degrees in #Melbourne. I plan to start my personal #swimming season that day.
I am declaring that publicly so that I am putting myself under pressure to actually do it. #commitment
Managed to squeeze in an easy run with some views of the city during the lunch break of the #swimming competition I am officiating today as the chief judge.
Two wonderful dogs to match the background 🤗🐕🐕. Enjoying a refreshing dip in the water! The background is a rocky cliff on the coast called Scala dei Turchi (Staircase of the Turks) in Realmonte, Sicily, Italy.
#AnimalHour From @LauraLeeActor "Have you ever seen an eagle swimming to shore doing the butterfly stroke after stealing a really big fish from a loon on a lake in Wisconsin? My sister & her husband filmed this last summer. Listen to the loon’s distress call." #swimming#eagle#loon#wisconsin
First proper dip in the ocean this year. 16°C is well refreshing, but not as painful as I thought it would be. After 10 minutes, I was comfortably numb 😜
Many of us swear by it, but the benefits are difficult to aquantify, trials relatively small and of course most people who indulge are generally fit anyway.
Yeah, don't worry about trying to get pics and vids of yourself during training, @CodySimpson -- it's less about doing it for the cameras or for the glamour of it. As long as you can record some stories or talk about them after this extreme phase of your life has concluded, that will be more than enough. We do appreciate the glimpses you have shown us as they let us know you're doing everything to push as hard as you can. #AustralianOlympicTrials#Swimming#Dolphins
I do remember taking my swim lessons as a very young kid but I don't remember what it feels like to not know how to swim. I have some adult friends who don't know how to swim and always wondered what it would feel like to learn as an adult. This video series is documenting just that. #swimming Learning How To Swim As An Adult | Episode 1
