Two things this week irked me:
• The wilful ignoring of the media in hyping up fringe views, parties and personalities before asking 'where have these reprehensible people come from?'
• The discussion that there's got to be a 'narrative' across everything - get lost. Go write fiction if that's what you want to do.

@ianRobinson I was listening to a podcast earlier (title sounds like where you'd hashtag buy a paper) and getting irate with their self-justification of the media entertaining the rotten right.

"But exposing them to sunlight is the best thing!"
Plants, including weeds, use sunlight to grow.

"But we're reflecting public opinion!"
...which shifts by having these people on in the first place, and not properly challenging them.

Same as it ever was.
