So geht #Wassermangement.

Im Bampfen bei Weingarten staut der Biber das Wasser der letzten Niederschläge auf.

Das Wasser landet nicht mit einem Schwupps im #Bodensee, sondern wird langsam und gleichmäßig abgegeben.

Es sickert langsam in die Böden der Umgebung und wird dort Pflanzenverfügbar gespeichert.

Der Miniwasserfall, der bald wieder verschwinden wird, reichert das Wasser unterhalb des Damms mit Sauerstoff an.

Today is the day for the #EuropeanParliament to pass the #RestoreNature law. This is vital for the protection of #biodiversity, #climate and our ability to live and feed ourselves on this planet. This law is good for #farming and farmers. No nature, no pollinators, no farming.

Unfortunately this piece of legislation is under attack by the far-right, center-right (EPP) and liberals. You still have a couple of hours to pest your MEPs about it.

As long as their actions don't match their words, their words will mean nothing to us. We just experienced the hottest month of June ever recorded, both on land and on sea. And last week we shattered the record of the hottest day ever recorded several days in a row. What we are witnessing now is only the beginning of a climate and biodiversity destabilization that will continue to spiral and get worse unless we start to act. The people in power are continuously sawing off the branch we are all sitting on. The fact that big corporations & lobbyists from destructive industries seem to be taken more seriously than the people affected by these crises and the science tells us very clearly where the people in power stand. We demand that the MEPs do not reject this law & vote for the strongest law possible. Anything else will be seen for exactly what it is: a betrayal both to those suffering the most from these crises to future generations, but also to humanity as a whole. Science is clear to safeguard healthy ecosystems and maximise carbon stocks and sinks, we need to restore more nature. More than 6000 scientists have come together to show the importance of this law. The most affected people and the most affected areas have, time & time again reminded the EU of its historical responsibility for the climate crisis and the unproportionate impact it still has on destroying people's lives and livelihoods by continuing to fueling the flames of this crisis. It is time that they listen.
