I talked to a few students in the encampment. They are the most peaceful, kind and pure people standing firmly & stubbornly for justice. They've been harassed by parents who are on campus for their kids' graduation. I've overheard a couple of graduating seniors explaining to their angry parents about their fellow students' constitutional right to protest. I felt proud as a college professor. These students are our treasure. I almost cried. #protest#students

“Youth are the conscience of our world and their voices are the moral compass that guide us to a better future. Rather than brutalize them and criminalize their protest actions, we must encourage them to continue to stand for justice, human rights and dignity for all humanity.”
Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandela, the grandson Nelson Mandela
I've just boosted this, but wanted to really stress how this simple message seems to me to sum up the manner in which the media colludes with our political elites to stifle & stamp down on dissent:
'Judging a demonstration by its most violent participants but NOT judging a policy force by its most violent cops is the language of the oppressor'!
We see this again & again, and I've seldom see the criticism so concisely or saliently put.

So..It’s time for a change…
Raise your voice to the air
It’s time for a change
Revolution is here
This is our song,
our rights now expressed
There’s power in our voice
There’s strength in our words
When the whole world is silent,
Our voice must be heard.
This is our song #Revolution is set
