I made my final decision to completely drop using Twitter today and moving my #artshare activities to #mastodon. It's not easy for me though; I've joined #Twitter back in 2008 and it was my ONLY #socialmedia for many years - till #Elmo take over and ruining it. Unfortunate.
Our neighbor--a dude that my wife and I refer to as "the Schlemazel"--just bought one of these despite not really being in a financial position to do so.

Apparently, the #Biden Admistration taking legal actions against #ElonMusks businesses is starting to hurt.
Good.
Interestingly, #Elmo seems to have bought into a TV station in order to distribute his whining defensive propaganda: #FauxNews.
/s:It is interesting, however, that a leading #GQP#FCC official seems to have become his #PR spokesman:/s.
Hopefully, the current Admistration's agencies make a lot of headway in their investigation https://youtu.be/wgfQaMoeeKc?si=s717lgp9IWP9JKW0
It's hard to overstate the importance that Sesame Street played in my life.
My parents had VHS tapes shipped internationally, and my parents got not only an American TV, but an American VCR, in France, in 1979 so I could watch it.
When I was a small child, Sesame Street was one of my favorite shows. I enjoyed the animation and complexity, not only the word lessons but life lessons too.
And it absolutely had an impact on how I saw the world, and probably why NYC feels more like home than anywhere else in the world to me.
I was too old for Sesame Street when Elmo became prominent, but I saw the cultural shift it created. I didn't like Elmo or the direction the show was taking.
I'm glad other people are talking about it, because Sesame Street plays such a huge rule in my childhood.
Speaking of #Elmo risking to lose many billions of dollars for #Saudi investors when he is shitposting #Xitter to death-by-advertiser-abandonment…
Did you know that Jamal #Khashoggi was the cousin of Dodi Fayed, who you might remember lost his life together with his girlfriend Diana in a car crash in Paris in the nineties?
I wonder how long #Elmo had sat there with his iphone and fumed over people on twitter freely saying shit like equality is rather preferable, apartheid was quite undesireable, and please police stop killing us, before he decided to take action to stomp out insane wokeness there one way or another
I haven't been in Twitter for awhile and I'm pushing a big fundraiser so figured it's a waste of resources to not push there, while I still have access to it.
But in this time I was away, owner of the platform has gone from "I pretend to support Ukraine" to full "I'm gonna spread russian propaganda openly and try to get you all killed by withdrawing support"
For the love of God, please try to get your friends to switch to whatever, even Threads will be better at this point.
Former head of #Twitter's Trust and Security, #YoelRoth, tells the story how #TFG and #Elmo ended his normal life:
"Backed by fans...#Trump publicly attacked me. Two years later, following his acquisition of Twitter and after I resigned my role as the company’s head of trust and safety, #ElonMusk added fuel to the fire. I’ve lived with armed guards outside my home and have had to upend my family, go into hiding for months and repeatedly move."
So, #Elmo says he's going to remove the head, subhead, and url from all news articles posted to #Twitter, and just show the main image for the article. Another braindead change. Imo the sole reason for this is to make the spread of mis/disinformation easier.
