Instead of having a #SilentSunday - how about making some music? I fool around on the piano and I've been in a number of all-percussion bands. Do you have an instrument of choice?
I just realised I forgot to do my #introduction here! I'm a long time #ActivityPub user with @nextcloud, but only started playing with #PixelFed and #Mastodon last year, when I decided to begin deactivating, and stop consuming ALL corporate social media, and as much from #BigTech as possible. All power to the people!
I want to get into #drums again. More intense. It makes so much fun, that’s why I have the following idea: #FediJam
If you’re a guitar player and you’d have some fun making some jamming, I’d love to contribute. Do you have a theme but no drums? Send me your track and I’ll put something on it.
Without a goal and pressure. I don’t want to release anything. Just for fun. Without big expectations.
Maybe a live jamming would be also a possibility with tools like https://jamulus.io/#Jamulus
Found a neat closeup drum cam of Chika drumming during Hanabie's Denver show. I usually like watching the drummer in any live show, but Chika was really far to the back of the stage at NYC. (Was able to get a good view of Matsuri's guitar playing though!) It's cool to get a really close up view of Chika rocking out from this angle! :AquaYeah:
#AudioMo: I present a 21-minute medley from my gig last Sunday in The Camden Club in London.
A Grenadian singer called Jonathan first performed one of his own tracks, then segwayed into a variety of other tracks, all whilst the house-band consisting of drums, bass, guitar and keys, kept the music going. Jonathan was also joined by a variety of other singers throughout the recording. #Bass: Ryan W. #Guitar: Titus M. #Drums: Alex D. #Keys: Andre L
I decided to post an introduction, let's say, once per month with the objective of reaching as many people as possible who might be interested in what I do 🙃
My name is Luca, I'm a drummer and IT professional from Italy, currently based in the Czech Republic.
In many African cultures, it is thought that the spirits of forebears exist in an unseen realm and may manifest in tangible objects within the visible world like drums or even trees later transformed into drums. The drum then takes on the character of the ancestor, impacting the rhythm, the manner of its sound, and the tones produced by the player.
Drumroll.....We made it through the storm and only got the outer bands. A lot of wind and rain, but nothing like Ian last year! Now to pray for those still in her path!
“Did You Listen to This?” part IV: Just now, I released my song “Time Out” (from the album “Make Me Do”) in a freshly mixed version. It is to remind us how important it is to relax, do nothing, watch the wandering clouds, simply exist in the Here and Now.
Ohai! #introduction
I am a software developer and started my journey almost two decades ago, so I formed some opinions on the way; I might contribute to some discussions.
I like talking about programming languages; expect posts about #golang, #rust, #ziglang, #perl, #compilers, #gamedev and #webdev
As a German #expat I lived in #sweden for years before moving to #valencia#spain. Expect comments about expat life, Spain and maybe some pictures.
Also, #drums, #dogs, #minimalism, and #coffee. 🦎
In my other life I'm a #phdstudent at the University of Passau, working on automated test generation for #Python. My goal is to make the life of developers better and easier by supporting them with automated tools to improve their code 1/2
New instance, so a new #intro post. I' don't really know what to say so I'll extend my bio a bit.
I'm a disabled lesbian trans woman from the north-west of England. I'm totally blind and have cerebral palsy. I possibly neurodivergent in some form or other as well but haven't been diagnosed.
I've been happily married for nearly 7 years at the time of writing. My wife doesn't do much on social media so I usually don't mention her name in public posts.
of my interests include:
Music, both playing and listening. I play keyboards, drums and bass. I love synthesisers and learning how to program my own patches on the ones that are accessible to me. I have a fairly eclectic music taste and favourite genres include pop, soul, R&B, rock, electronic music and others. It's probably easier to say what I don't like.
reading. mainly fantacy and sci-fi but I'll give most things a go if the blurb grabs me.
Technology interests me, but mainly as an end user rather than messing about with servers and stuff like that, although I have done a bit of coding. One tech thing I am fascinated by though is speech synthesisers.
Accessibility is of course important to me, and I've been known to go on rants about that. I'm a full-time screen reader user. NVDA on windows and VoiceOver on iOS.
I've done a fair bit of Wikipedia editing in the past, but not much these days.
I think that'll do for now, but feel free to ask me things. I don't bight, much.
