We've boosted the old Specialty channel intro as seems a bit slept on by seasoned community members for scheduling a themed discovery session and newcomers alike wondering if their x might be too y for RFF.
There are multiple places we can programme damn near any sound.
If you haven't yet caught your vibe on Main, it may well be there, but we also go wider, longer and include things on Specialty you won't hear elsewhere.
#Drupal family, we need your feedback. The @drupalassoc is conducting a survey to improve the Drupal contribution journey, and your feedback is critical. By taking just a few minutes to fill out a short form, you can help shape the future of Drupal contributions.
Please take a moment to complete the survey. Your feedback will help ensure that Drupal remains a vibrant and thriving open-source community.
It was just an email, rather than an issue or bug and someone took some efforts to look up my mail and to write me. It made me very happy & we should much more honour the work of others! It reminded me of how much we now take software for granted in our daily life. Things we do and handle our daily business... Even if we don't donate anything or only small amounts, we should always show respect for the time and effort of the author and maintainer. Even a small personalized email can bring great joy :)
The free Internet #encyclopedia has around 315 language versions & over 58 million articles. There is also an entry for #TUXEDO - anyone who would like to can #contribute here or add further skills.
The latest announcement offers a long-term source of money Wu says will grow as it’s matched through crowd-sourcing, and federal, provincial and philanthropic funding agreements still under negotiation.
Wu, who has been one of the leading advocates of the funding scheme since 2017, says there remain at least three big gaps in how the province intends to protect its oldest and most vulnerable #forest#ecosystems
I have some dumb #Drupal FOSS contributing questions. I keep noticing that people are opening merge requests against the 8.x-1.x-dev branch in GitLab when the current release is 8.x-4.x.
That's an error right? Is this just a quirk of making it so easy to contribute code?
It seems like it has to be an error to me, but I've seen it so many times. Also when I've opened a merge request, GitLab seems to be steering me in the direction of issuing the MR against the 1.x-dev branch.
For example, I'd create an issue fork off the 4.x-dev branch and when I open a merge request, it's defaulting me to the 1.x-dev branch. Is that intentional or just a quirk to watch out for?
Also, what's the proper etiquette for when there's no -dev branch to issue a MR against? Should I just make the MR against the main branch?
What project are you trying to contribute to? Drupal core's default branch is now 11.x. But there are different modules/themes that have different branches.
but yeah, I echo what Tim said, get into #contribute in Drupal Slack and you can ask questions there :)
Or feel free to reply here, and I'll get to it when I see it

Hi folks!
Time for an #introduction as part of setting things up here.
A few years back when #friends were visiting we started yet again recommending all the #awesome#vegan#discoveries we made.
During the conversation the idea of a #website inspired by the awesome lists movement came up and shortly after started with the motivation to make it a #community driven project where everyone can #contribute.
Accounts on commercial social media existed already and now it is time to bring this to Mastodon and the Fediverse.
The #radioFreeFedi community of artists, listeners and patrons has shown amazing support in all directions, materially, in kind words and uplifting aid and support in a collaborative spirit.
We know it can be tough promoting your art and we love to help.
Has it been a while since you've submitted? Have you been meaning to? Did you not know our community powered service exists? See our bio for the TLDR of what we do.
Every day is a great day to grow the soundtrack for an awesome community instigating intentional acts of kindness, comradery, and direct support.
Every day is also a great day to support an indie artist.
The great thing about #opensource is that you can #contribute & change that to fit your needs/desire. #opensource is free, but even though opensource software is freely available, there's often effort required to make it align perfectly with your individual needs. Consider contributing to #opensource to make a difference for all user. https://contribute.opensuse.org
