Afternoon thunderstorms are a daily occurrence here on the Florida Gulf coast during the summertime & this day was no exception. These have moved offshore & will rain themselves out over the Gulf. The cloud formations with these powerful storms are always a sight to behold.
A pretty pink sunset sky photographed along the Florida west coast Intracoastal Waterway. As often happens, the reflections from the sky create a totally pink atmosphere. I enhanced this colorful evening sunset with an impressionistic treatment for an artistic presentation.
Here's a triple green flash I photographed a few years ago from ESO's Paranal Observatory in #Chile, with the #Sun setting over the Pacific Ocean.
The atmosphere was strongly layered that day, creating this awesome effect. In fact, if you look closely you’ll see some horizontal bands in the #clouds, due to the way the light is refracted by these layers of air.

When you can't outrun the storm, you have to deal with being in the middle of it. And the more practice you have with difficult situations, the better off you'll be.
The light caught my eye, I don't know why. It's only the sun's rays breaking through clouds of gray. Lighting a path through darkness to the ocean's surface
